He is not talking about stashes. In fact if you follow the link the dev SMoss provides it makes it pretty clear. He is only talking about loot from designated spawn points. Nothing else is taken into consideration at the moment. https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/223307-central-economy/ Even still these threads are old, in fact what is posted in April of 2015 is no longer valid because that was when they were going for the Central Loot Economy across multiple servers. However I don't think stashes ever effected loot tables.

To get back on topic. I guess what was said in the first post pretty much sums it up. There needs to be either: A. More forests. However if the map boundaries are not going to expand this seems unlikely. B. Denser forests currently in the game. I think this is doable. Even people on low end machines get very high FPS in the middle of the woods because theres few objects around. If the devs added huge cities like Novodimitrovsk and Severograd into the map why can't they add sections of forest that have more trees or more bushes in them. Maybe really large wide bushes that you can run through for the best cover for hiding things.

Yep, with the way official servers work now its a game of luck. You have to be lucky your server doesn't go down and change hands to a server that someone bought through the server provider. I hope this issue will be fixed in the future. It is not an exaggeration to say the biggest risk to losing your camp is not a player finding it in game, but from a server going down due to someone buying a server from a server provider.

I am not sure this is true. I know this was planned to be like this at one point, however currently I don't think the loot you have in persistence containers effects the loot economy. Also that was planned back when there was going to be a central loot economy over many servers. Since then it has been decided there is only going to be central loot economy on a per server basis.

Yes it absolutely can. Just as Mercules has just said before me, this happens. It deletes your old camps and it is a shame. I hope the developers at Bohemia Interactive see this post because it is a problem that happens, and when it happens to new players it is extremely discouraging. There needs to be REAL official servers that can never change hands and will always keep the same persistence up. For the sake of the game, I mean if every server can go down even the supposed "official" ones then where is the longevity? It is not an exaggeration to say the biggest risk to losing your camp is not a player finding it in game, but from a server going down due to someone buying a server from a server provider. I hope this will be fixed this as development progresses. This can't happen especially when basebuilding makes it in the game, all your work can just disappear without any warning, what kind of 'MMO' is this? (Of course DayZ is not a real MMO but it is marketed as such, at the very least you could provide dedicated servers that won't delete your work at any moment) The server providers can still do what they do now but these servers should be clearly designated that they are able to change hands at a moments notice when someone buys one of their servers.

Another question. Early on in the development process Dean "Rocket" Hall was adamantly saying how diseases would play a big part in the game. Such as diseases being more prevalent in cities and viruses spreading through player contact and even human waste being a factor. I know getting sick from water will be possible but I'm wondering if this vision of a more hospitable hardcore take on diseases like described by Dean Hall is still considered for development?

This was discussed many times. They won't put any AI in that are humanoids. One of the main design philosophies is that the content in DayZ is for the most part player driven and not reliant on events too much. That can be work for a mod or a different game. In fact mods of this already exist in Arma 2 DayZ and Arma 3 DayZ. In my opinion its too much, and the devs shouldn't go in this direction anyway. It should be player driven content.

Hey Brian, Will we be seeing any kind of Base building/barricading/construction in the game in some form before entering into the Beta phase? Proper testing of such a core feature I imagine should be done while still in Alpha.

Yes Utes is removed. On the first day I ran to Skalisty Island and didn't see anything in the distance. Its also not on the map. Apparently they are adding a completely new island with a prison on it in place of it later on.

Well for one thing on certain NJ servers the time zone is all off. Its daylight between the hours of 3:00 AM and 11:00 AM. If they insist on a 24 hour system at least make it appropriate for the region.

Gas Mask model is too small or short(with pics)
Komalt replied to raynor009's topic in General Discussion
I too have a gas mask that is not nearly as big as yours. They are simply different kinds. -
This is going to be great. I can already imagine it now. There is going to be one frequency that will be determined by players to be the "public chat" channel. There will be many laughs and perhaps annoying sounds but the good thing is you can just change the frequency if you find it annoying.

Once you eat a lot and drink a lot over a period of time you will eventually get a status message in your inventory screen saying "healthy" this means, I believe, that you are full on all fronts and you won't be needing to drink or eat as often. Its very nice once you reach that point, this is your ultimate goal when starting a new character. Some tips to reach this goal is to drink a lot at wells. Keep drinking until you get a message that says "You feel really full" or something like that. Once you get that message you stop. Then a few minutes later make sure to eat a lot until you reach the "Your stomach is full" message appears again. Make sure not to eat or drink anymore for sometime if your stomach is full. Continue this process until you eventually get a message in your inventory stating you are "healthy". This signifies that your thirst, hunger, health, and blood values are full.

Yes reading notes has broken since the second patch I believe.

There is the FNX 45 Pistol Also additional melee weapons include: Fire Extinguisher Hammer -
Why were Makeshift Splint not added? I saw they were removed at the last minute. They would really be helpful.

Give me one logical reason why gear destruction will delay KOS
Komalt replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Exactly. Hell I support the feature but I could easily see myself being frustrated when I damage a good item from a person that I just killed. -
So I would like to know why the Makeshift Splint (Wood) or (Metal) did not make it to the live patch? Here I am in the middle of the woods with a broken leg because I was playing around with the new placing system with the barbed wire and a zombie aggroed and I didn't know how to place it so he hit me. Im no where near any city with a hospital and the hope of atleast creating a splint is more feasible to obtain materials for within my area. Can this please be added soon? It makes more sense that a splint could heal a broken leg rather than Morphine.

How will servers be handled in SA?
Komalt replied to BioHazard050's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I believe the servers should be run officially by Bohemia. Theres to many abusive admins and unfair things in private servers. Also since Rocket has said how he has designed servers to have an MMO-like architecture then he clearly wants the game to be MMO-like. Most MMOs have officially ran servers so that it is even and fair. -
This past weekend I have had 3 seperate experiences with definite hackers. I have them all on video actually and the most interesting one was one that I saw at the NorthEast Airport in Chernarus. I was watching from a hill and I notice out of nowhere a bandit with a vehicle appears and starts running through the military lootpoints there. I had a sniper rifle so I went prone and examined him for a while. He was running around all over the place but eventually got back into the vehicle. Thats when I fired a few shots all of them missed but hit the car, he got out of the car and started running. He was constantly toying with me and frankly was pretty good at it, hiding behind houses trying to fool me about where he will go next. I thought I had a hit on him at one point but I think he was invinicible. So after a while he leaves and I still didn't think he was hacker yet, the only sign was that the vehicle seemingly appeared out of nowhere. So he left his car there and my friend starts going checking the military loot in buildings and realizes its all gone? We are thinking this is impossible he couldn't have taken all of it. So my friend goes to the car and literally the instant he clicks "Enter Vehicle" all the vehicles on the server disappear. (I have it on FRAPS) And a few seconds later the hacker teleports everyone outside the map and kills everyone. I luckily left just before but my friend didn't. There must have been a safety mechanism on the hacked vehicle that if someone tries to enter it, it just despawns every vehicle on the map. I later noticed on the video that his name was just a space (Nametags were enabled on this server)

I actually like this idea. Maybe not coughing but there should definitely be some kind of noise made that would make other players aware that you are around, especially indoors. I think this would discourage people from logging out in lets say a military barracks to keep checking on loot.

I have been searching for days now through vehicle spawns and also through the northern woods. I don't know where all the vehicles are!? I have scanned all of the woods near the borders I mean I just don't know where these people are hoarding them. I want to find a vehicle so badly..

So I have had the Lee Enfield for a very long time but I found an AK-74 with 3 magazines and I am not sure what to do. The Lee Enfield has such high damage and good range but is also very loud. AK-74 doesn't have that same damage and even though I very rarely encounter others, since I spend most of my time roaming the woods, I still want to be best prepared against other players. So what would you use? Should I just stick to the Enfield and wait until I find an M4 or an M16 type weapon?
