I'm sure we're misinterpreting it somehow. I can't imagine the community devs suddenly went insane. -
AS50 for sniping, M4 SD or Mk 48 for all-around use. On Namalsk/servers with custom loot tables though, I like the PKP Pecheng and PKM. Sexy looks (The PKM less so), zeroing, amazing iron sights, and plenty of damage.

The Makarov SD is in Namalsk. Although I've never found a natural spawn, I've found several on bodies and it's listed as being added in the .72 changelog. -
It was stated a while ago that no legit AS50 TWSes are in existence; whether this is a educated guess or they were actually tracked is debatable.

Increase 9mm and .45 damage, and add a more complex damage system. The character shouldn't be a pain-immune superhuman who can constantly sprint with a 7.62 bullet in their chest.

I would use the A3 with no sniper rifle in pack, but if I did have a long ranged gun in my backpack I would use the Holo as the sight is quite effective for CQB and the M203 can do some nifty stuff. Either way, give me an M14, Mk 48, or M4 SD. The existence of the 7.62 Aimpoint guns kill the A3 and Holo's usefulness as CQB weapons, and if you want something which isn't noisy you have the M4 SD. -

I would play on mercenary servers if other people did. The best I can do is stick to veteran servers and have name tags filtered out at all times. -

Teaming is already the most viable strategy, the problem is that teaming up with a random guy you meet is far inferior to a clan, squad, or friend. Communication in direct is very messy and unreliable compared to a prearranged teamspeak server. -

It doesn't matter all that much, but under 100 is ideal, with 100-350 being more average. I'm not sure where you're coming from on this, the main hive is hell. Hackers are everywhere, tons of duped and scripted high-end gear is in circulation, and all the action is in the main cities. Every time I log into a high pop main server I end up waiting for an hour or so in Stary or the NWA for someone to come along, to no effect. There is no challenge, as no serious squad plays on the main hive and you're more likely to find a camp full of duped gear than a winchester.
