A major disaster has occurred. You've been surviving for a few days on your own. You've seen groups of people but have avoided them. Then one day, while looting a grocery store, a woman calls out. She comes in carrying her 7 year old daughter. She says that her daughter's ankle is badly broken and needs help. Her daughter is softly crying and you can tell she's suffering from a fever. You can see that the woman has a large kitchen knife tucked into a makeshift holster clearly visible on her hip. What do you do? - Provide medical aid, offer to help the woman and team up. - Provide medical aid, leave. - Give them a token amount of assistance, and leave. - Ignore them and leave. Probably threaten to kill them both if they follow you. - Take everything they have at gunpoint, leave them. - Take everything they have at gunpoint, THEN kill them. - Kill them right away and see if they had anything useful. - Kill the daughter in her woman's arms, and then shoot both her kneecaps. Make her watch as you rape her daughter's corpse. Put a blowtorch to the woman's face to teach her to dump her problems on you. Make her eat her flesh, then use the woman as a sex slave until she dies of infection and shock. People bitch about RPGs that present moral choices where you only have two choices, with the 'evil' option being the equivalent of turning you into the Hitler Youth, but look at how you morons act in-game. I'll be the 'sperging basement dweller virgins just love to think they're hardasses and would pick something from the last half of the list. People in-game pick things from the last half of the list. But in reality? No, you wouldn't. You know you wouldn't. You're just such an antisocial prick who has so few friends you have absolutely no understanding of human empathy. And most of you fat nerds would die trying to remember how to light a fire anyway so I hardly think your 'opinions' of how people would act in a survival situation matter, since you rejects of humanity would cull yourselves in the first week.

You're also incorrect about something else... do you really think anyone who's murdered anyone in this game did it for survival? What, were they starving to death so they killed a bunch of guys for their beans? There's absolutely no part of the 'survival' aspect that really requires you to kill people to survive in this game, besides 'kill or be killed'. Food is infinite, water is infinite, bullets are infinite. Literally none.

+1. I'm done playing specifically because of that. In a real-life situation, people are going to turn into animals. However, the incidents that followed Katrina or any other massive disaster were minor compared to the number of people involved. There's also the mental aspect that isn't considered. A lot of people carry guns and wave guns around (street hoods mugging someone) but don't have the guts to pull the trigger. Gamers are conditioned to feel nothing when killing people in a game, so it's no problem to simply massacre people by the truckload. So the experiment is already invalid. Thus why I said to force things on players who are murderers to reflect a diminished mental state.

Being a bandit needs to have some sort of negative implications. Hell I think it should be changed to 'sanity'. Killing innocent people reduces your sanity and you start hallucinating or develop schizophrenia - hearing phantom gunshots, zombie growls, voices in your head... There's no real point to this game, so people aren't PvPing because they, say, need water or ammo and are killing a certain guy because he's loaded with ammo and water, they're killing people simply to grief. Killing someone at the NW airfield not only forces them to endure hours of walking to get back there, but the killer even has the option to make all their loot unrecoverable. What is the point of that, besides a griefing tool? Someone mentioned before that yes, in a survival situation, there will be people who will kill 'just for fun', but these people represent less than 1% of the population. In-game it's more like 75%. I was just killed outside the NW airfield. I had a blood level of 2000, and some pretty weak weapons. Didn't find anything in the airfield except a shotgun with no ammo, so I left it. I asked some guy for help, and he didn't have blood packs but gave me a bunch of cooked food. He then proceeded to follow me until I found my stash (which took half an hour in the dark) and immediately killed me for: a CZ 550 sniper rifle with two magazines, some basic meds, an empty canteen, and a .45 revolver and some bullets. Having a low humanity should be extremely undesirable. Killing an innocent should have a profound immediate effect and long-lasting effects. Most people aren't killers and would be unable to deal with the mental consequences of it. Additionally, no serious PVP penalties and nothing to really "do" in this game means people who are PVPing have a 'goal', to hunt other people. People who aren't PVPing are just going to quit the game. I was just killed at the NW airfield by a guy who I helped save from zombies. I lost all my stuff (my weapons I didn't care about, I cared more about my collection of survival gear). My body is now so far away it might as well not be there, and I'm sure he hid it anyway. I see absolutely no reason to play this anymore. Hours of playtime completely wasted. I'm not going to piss around the shitty newbies towns for another several hours desperately trying to find even the most basic supplies.
