How to salvage the Czeck Vest Pouch
Bearded McGee replied to Bearded McGee's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You wear clothes under ghillies, yes (not saying it's wrong not to, don't want to offend any horny Star Wars roleplayers) but it's usually a jumpsuit or something simple. The difference between that and other clothing is that even the civilian skin shows you having a whole lot of body-pockets and bags. The Camo Suit has a vested kevlar vest, which has less pockets than the Civi, but those vest usually have compartments too. -
WE don<'t understand why anyone would want something that would deter to the present and working game mechanics. There are bad ideas, then there's BAD ideas.

How to salvage the Czeck Vest Pouch
Bearded McGee replied to Bearded McGee's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Actually, this makes me think... If instead of the *new* Cseck Vest Pouch of mine, main inventory slots were tied to the "skin" we were using? Civilian and Camo Outfits have a lot of visible pouches and pockets while the ghillie has nothing of the sort, and yet two players wearing either have the same inventory? How about tying your inventory space to the skin/clothes you are using? The civilian would have something like the actual number of slots, The Camo would have the improved number of slots (see my attached pic in the OP) And the Ghillie would actually remove main inventory space. -
I'm wondering about his sanity. Gives bean seemingly at random and keeps on making different versions of the same thread. Apache, are you alright?

How to salvage the Czeck Vest Pouch

That works too, but it's nice like Alice packs are rare. Since instead of just adding to a progression that's already skipped through and over usually within a few hours, a simple overhaul of the functioning of a particular backpack could be better. Personally, I'd trade every backpack until an Alice for this Czeck vest Pouch. -
Say there's keys. What if a player logs out with them? Or if he "drops" them? Alright, have it so the keys need to stay on a player, in-game. If a player logs out with the keys, they go back to the vehicle. They can't be placed in a tent or other storage. If a player is killed, they stay on the body for a set amount of time. Otherwise, make it so breaking into the car damage the hull and a window. Make the toolbox required for hot-wiring or a special tool.

I'm doing pretty good, thank you.

To hell with primary weapons says the medic
Bearded McGee replied to Tsyn's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Make it ten spaces, after all, that's the space a primary weapon takes in a BP. -

Stop it, my head! Oh!

Every single thread you make, all of your ideas so far, make my head hurt.

If that's okay with you all, I'll remake a Mortar version of this thread eventually and treat criticism as such. Keeping the trolling, counter-trolling and meta-trolling out.

I'd tell you to read again the OP. This could NOT be implemented in the current setup. It's either Standalone material or DayZ would need a major overhaul in terms of functionality. Banditry as it exist now is NOT banditry, you said it yourself; people kill to kill. But why? The reason is simple, there's nothing else to do! There's no economy system of any kind forged by players right now because of the broken game mechanics. Dupping and scripting prevent players from doing anything else but killing other players for the sake of killing other players. And personally, I don't like the Hive system. It takes for too much exploiting. So, scratch it out of my suggestions, should have said that.

I'm the biggest carebear around. Only ever killed one other player. I hate getting shot at, I'm all about cooperation. But I think it PVE-Only servers would kill DayZ.
-
Would totally be okay with this. Doesnt stop wookies from running around with Alice/Coyote Backpacks but the drawback is still there. Making it more advantageous to stay crouched, back to a bush than prone.

Artillery? No. But I'd take a Mortar were it to take the backpack slot like the current M136. Introduce different kind of shell, similar to the M203 rounds. Mortar Flare (stay in the air longer and illuminate the area more) Mortar Smoke (M203 smoke, more range, good for rangefinding before lobbing the killing shell) Mortar HE (Explosion force somewhere between a M67/M203HE and a satchel charge) Take the 2B14 Podnos (currently in service under the Russian army), it's an 82mm mortar piece, usually handled in pair (but it can be used in solo). The maximum range is of 4.25km. That's right, it could fire across a third of Chernarus. Since the operator can't usually see a target (Min. Eff. range is 80m), you'd need a spotter with whom you are in direct contact. Blind-firing would be wasteful to an extreme degree. EDIT: Similar model, undemiled.

Bleeding intension and duration
Bearded McGee replied to Frozen (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Bleeding does stack if I remember well. But yeah, I'd like an expansion on the mechanics of bleeding. Actually, I'd like an expansion on many of the base mechanics of DayZ (see my signature). Instead of adding new content, current mechanics should be tweeked around more and give touch-ups. -
Something like this? I'd take it. P.S. It's hard to find a good armband image. The Gnatzies kinda killed the fad. But yeah, I'd take a brightly collored armband over a potential friendly bullet between the bumcheeks.

I was thinking about this very thing earlier. I was thinking of disabling backpacks completely for ghillie but having the possibility to have a small/medium pack. It would actually be a nice drawback, enough to bring it in line with the other players.

Hahaha, good one. Needed a laugh. The takeover "feature" is a sub-consequence of dynamic spawn rates. Actual takeovers (as in, stay in X town and it gets magically "taken over") are bad.
