Might work out. As long as you can't stack KO/Unconscious timers over each others, it should be fine. I'm sticking to my original idea. Simulate the current effects of low blood when shot once and knocked-out if shot again within 5 minutes.

This would be my concern. How it would be exploited and abused by people who are not looking to get kills per se but rather going for QQ points from whoever they shot. The tranqGun would be an equalizer. Fitting a niche playerbase. With my idea, it would be used for stealing supplies off other players. With a single hit KO, people would use it to knock people out first and then just finish the job. With two shots for KO, it would be used more as a deterent againt aggressive players without being forced to kill them. I'm personally not fond of killing other people. I'd keep a two-shot TranqGun on me for such situations where I either need to debilitate someone enough that they might no longer be a threat without posing too much of a threat to them as they could still escape and avoid zombies. And with an Adrenaline shot counter, this would not be OP enough to make a second shot easy to follow up. I'd make them spawn as much as current epi-pen and I'd remove the epi-pen an give its current effect to Adrenaline shots.

It's a good idea. Might be hard to implement but it would fit well within DayZ on some servers. Would give weight to RP-loving people.

That was really interesting. One thing I want to stress out is the whole "we don't want to kill each other, but we need to stay atop to survive" point. Make loot more rare and hidden better. Why not have loot zones, but no actual loot points. Loot piles could be located anywhere within 50m for weapons, ammo and high-yield items.

Totally okay. I'm thinking two shots would be necessary to completely know someone out as a single-shot KO would be VERY annoying. Make the gun single-shot and reload (like real world gas-powered tranq-guns) each flechettes individually. How about making the first hit give the target blurry vision similar to what you get under 4k blood for 3-5 minutes? A second shot would knock out for a minute or two and double the blurry vision time-upon a wake up. An adrenaline shot (because epi-pens make no sense) would remove the blurry vision and give a protection against knockout for 5 minutes.

The only problem I got with it is that we lack quivers. Two bolts do not take up as much space as a box of M240 rounds. I'd take a ten/fifteen bolt quiver taking three spaces. Otherwise, it works splendidly as is. For hunting a bolt can often not be used more than once as they are relatively fragile. Meant to penetrate flesh to a point and stay there. They'll often be kinked beyond use. As for bleeding, unless you play with the bolt, you wouldnt bleed that much. The arrow is still there clogging its own hole. -
Make the GPS needed for waypoints. Make it so the waypoints are not visible on you HUD but on the GPS itself. Giving you a direction and a distance. I'm okay with waypoints. But as it is right now, it's detrimental.

Ammo and clips/mags as separate entities. Here's a good way to balance weapon distribution. Make ammo more plentiful (and graded by calibres instead of the mag it's loaded in) but make mags/clips more rare. With a few exceptions, revolvers or belt-fed weapons (some having very specific calibres whose ammunition are never shipped out of a box, always a boxed belt). Make it s you can strip a mag from its ammo. Make it so that when a mag is emptied, it does not disappear (think water bottle) Make it so that refilling mags is time consuming. Make it so rounds take more space than the equivalent space for ammo loaded in mags so players prefer keeping one free ammo dump instead of refilling ammo on the spot (which takes time, remember?). Also, I like crossbows, but how about making them rare and having bows be as rare as the current DayZ crossbow? What I said earlier applies to bolt/arrow quivers too. I can do without a bow, but having a guy only being able to carry 12 bolts (while his friend can carry 6 full boxes of SAW/240 rounds is, er, not nice?

I'm a boomstick guy and the 870 is fabulous. Also, unlimited ammo is nice with the 870 and M1014 (or the revolver/1911 duo) For pistol, I like the g17 but I havent really picked up anything else. the 1911 would follow suit in terms of preference. the only rifle I've used so far is a M4A1 CCO (with SD mags, I thank whoever decided to stock up on 15 of those mags and leave it in a tent VERY badly hidden near the NWAF). If I could find a M4A1 CCO SD I'd take that. -

I don't. Why? I don't shoot other players. Even aggressive ones. I run. I ever had to kill one of them because I couldn't loose him and he was a hatchet maniac. After twenty five minutes of running and both my hunger and thirst about to hit flashing red status, I had to turn around and point-blank 8Rnd Pellets him. And I know what the hero skin is. If I figure I can't avoid him, I'll try to contact him, calling friendly, open for trade and free BJ as bonus (the last part saved me from bandits a few times actually, only had to "act it out" once). -
How do you think they can solve the spawning at the coast problem?

Well, first I'd like spawn points to be more numerous. I'd also like a secondary system to set how a non-fresh pawn will not accidentally spawn back on the coast. I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics, but if possible keep the original spawn for the fresh-meat and have so that if a server can't find your true spawn (last place it recorded you being at), it would spawn you in places other than the coast. How it could detect that could be linked with your gear. If you load a server and you only have started gear, coastline spawn. if you load a server (and the hive/server can't figure out where to put you) with anything more than a starter set of equipment, you get to spawn in any of the secondary spawn points. Said spawn could be fixed within particular buildings (ex. Apartment building or in a barn on a decked floor) Otherwise, why not have a larger set of spawn points? Keeping most of them on the coast but placing a few in the wilderness a bit north from it (within, say, 3 km) so you can get the odd holy-crap-I-don't-know-where-to-go spawn. Imagine spawning in a forest with NO reference point and no building in view. How about giving you a free watch in such cases (so the poor-soul can be not-retarded and figure out north by himself with help of wondrous knowledge and logic). -

As a reference, Dragon's Dogma (a JRPG/WRPG hybrid) got undead enemies. When still not aggroed, they'll sometime give lines from when they were still alive. Including, but not limited to; "My clothes are dirty." "Where are you...?" "Hahahaa....." "I don't want to go..." "want to go home." "My baby." "I don't want to die." "I'm so hungry..." "Must...keep...working..." in a tired voice. I'd like something along the same lines. Having nearby Zeds address each other and talk nonsense. Of course, make it a RARE occurrence. Nothing spoils creepy like abundance.

I'll try to come down and see if the server is nice enough. Just recently had my tent washed down a river (tent was atop a mountain, fancy how it could go down a river). Only thing I'm iffy about is about loosing the goodies from the 1.7.2.4 to 1.7.2.5 update. Maybe I'll wait and really join when the server gets updated when/if the tent/vehicle despawn problem is fixed.
