Personally I voted for the last one. Lets say that all the public hive servers had the exact same settings. The time of day, the weather, and temperature. Now lets say the day would last 20 hrs, that way nobody can complain that they always end up playing at night, because the time will always be different when they get on. Then make it so mass quantities of loot spawn every week or make it random set of time, causing it too seem like the apocalypse just occurred. Seems like a fun idea, although it would be easily exploitable because of server-hopping. Perhaps it would be better for lone private hives.

Yeah I think this would make a nice addition to the game, provided that you can in fact open the door very quickly. I really don't want to be in a situation where i'm running from a horde or a player then suddenly perform an extremely slow animation to open a door to a building.

The future of DayZ, it's a simple question after all...

Perhaps a little extreme, however if you feel that you lean more to either side then choose that one. -
If it's a private hive by all means do what you want. However no way in public.

Alright, handcuffs as they are now are rather pathetic. You can easily break out of them in a matter of seconds, regardless of their condition. So do you think they should change or not?
-
Personally I think handcuffs, or at least pristine handcuffs should be unbreakable. I know people are going to complain saying that would be too harsh because it's a "game". I feel that everyone has forgotten DayZ's original purpose. To become the "anti-game". It was never meant to be a easy ride, it was meant to be a apocalypse simulator and a social experiment. Sometimes it's as if Dean himself has forgotten this, giving into what the community wants.

PSA: If you put "No KoS" in the title of your server, I'm going to favorite it and stop in every day to kill at least one person
Hikurac replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
I'm completely friendly, been playing since release, I have yet to KoS anybody, and i'm always trying to help people out when I meet them. However if I see a bunch of PUBLIC servers being polluted with so called "rules and guidelines", then perhaps I too will become a bandit on those servers and attack people. I don't mind if you have a private server and make it friendly, that's completely up to you, but enforcing your own rules on a PUBLIC server is rather sad. At that point you are no longer paying for the server, you're paying to have an easy place to get easy loot on the public hive. Which is practically cheating. Of course many people do not wish to abuse the server, they just want to play with friendly people, and if that's the case, then do what I said and get a private server. Either way there is no excuse. -
adding some more character to dayz standalone

It seems that having corpses lying around in game is generally frowned upon (except for the corpse pits), as it deprives from the fact that everything is player driven. Rocket mentioned something about it before when someone suggested that there should be cars crashed into trees, with bodies lying beside it with loot. A lot of people stated that they only want player bodies, as they are sufficient in portraying an event that did in fact happen, rather then NPC bodies placed everywhere to create a false sense of "atmosphere".... or something along those lines. Personally I agree with them. -
Pant-less and Friendly, a story of how to not get shot at.
Hikurac posted a topic in General Discussion
Just recently my nephew came to visit and he likes to watch me play DayZ. So in order to change things up I let him play instead and told him to try as hard as he can to be friendly to others but try not to die. Thus he was killed about 5 times in the time span of one hour. He soon grew tired of the game, stating that it was impossible to meet people without getting attacked. I tried to convince him that it's easy to not get shot at. All you have to do is be entertaining. If you are more entertaining to them then a dead body full of loot, chances are they would rather you remain alive. In order to prove my theory I respawned at Balota, found a nice jacket, a nifty hat, and proceeded to adventure across the coast without any pants. Here is how I looked by the time I logged off from my adventure: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/505826534926746737/DBB1933CA08622B04B96ABD4124C795B6BC2DD29/(And yes I have 5 handcuffs, 4 of which I found in one firestation along with a key) I jumped from low population to high population server to see if people acted any more hostile. I sang the glorious lyrics of this beautifully orchestrated music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQhyDYQ081U I talked in a funny accent when I met people and stated that I was the Pant-less King of Chenarus. I told them that if they wore the mandatory Pink Hat and removed their pants, they too could join my army and bow down to me, forever basking in my eternal sea of glory. Some traded with me, some gave me supplies, some even joined my magnificent army and others fled at the sight of my beautiful clean shaven legs. I traveled from Balota to Elektro, back and forth. By the end of it I had met a total 11 people (who had not ran away). None of them ever attacked me and I am still alive. Some were even bandits, as I had seen them kill bambi's on the coast. However through the use of my silver tongue and my Emperor Norton-like charm, they had become incapacitated of their hostilities. Perhaps they were all friendly because I made them giggle, perhaps it was pure luck, or maybe it's because people don't want to cause harm to the guy who acts and looks the hobo at the local Denny's. I don't know. All I know is that it worked. Maybe it will work for you too.- 1 reply

DayZ Mercenary - Taking out a DeathSquad

Post removed by user. Nvm, figured out what I was going to ask you. -
Well, my CD key has been stolen. Before you say it's my fault for a download, virus, yada yada yada, or whatever, it's not, just read. I was looking up how anyone could of gotten my CD Key without using fake software, viruses, etc, and I found the answer. There's a Arma 2 OA keygen that's distributes random numbers/letters similar to the keys issued when you purchase the game, i'm guessing it hardly ever lands on an active key, but if it does, then the script kiddie can just use a key changer to make use of it. If you've never downloaded a program that's harmful or given away your CD key number but there's someone on your account running around causing havoc, then guess what, they landed on your CD key, just like mine, plain bad luck. I'm not gonna ask for a refund, considering that Bohemia doesn't have the common sense to enable one key per computer, I doubt they'll have the generosity to send me a free one. All I want is for my CD key to be globally banned. Before I was a male hero with tons of humanity, now apparently i'm a female bandit carrying an M107, a PKM, and a FN Fal all in the same slot. The last thing I need is some kid running around terrorizing servers using CD Key, so I might as well help the community a little, and take us both down together. So, do you guys know a way to get battleeye to global ban me without downloading and using scripts myself?
-
I'm trying to get a reply from battleeye but they seem pretty quiet, yea I can show them the key and steam receipt. Lol orlok, yes this is my computer.
-
Yea, waiting for a reply, sent Bohemia a message and a support ticket regarding the stolen key, can you guess what their response was? An automated msg with tutorials on how to set up the game...
-
Lol... the whole point of asking for a global ban is to stop the kiddie from hurting the rest of the community, or at least halt his progress.
-
It may have been an MIM attack, backtracking, arp poisoning, or other various forms of digital assaults, but not from a virus download. Kinda bothers me that the majority of the DayZ community thinks that "hacking" can only be applied because of lack of security on the victims behalf.
-
Yea this computer is only accessed by me, in my own home, password protected, all that jazz.
-
I've NEVER downloaded a arma 2 related program besides dayz commander. It's not my computer, I've done registry scans, boot time scans, roolkit scans, etc.
-
I've already done a boot time/full scan with avast, malwarebytes, and multiple other antivirus softwares. It's not my computer my friend.
-
Yea, I just sent battleeye the message, i'm expecting a automated reply <_<, just like Bohemia. I also wanna know who's idea it was to enable the use of one key on multiple computers, it's common sense to have that disabled.

Alright so I just got my first kill yesterday. I was in a server with some friends from TMW, they were driving around the the gas station near Solnichniy in a V3S I found days ago, and started taking fire. A sniper had shot them multiple times until the V3S blew up, only one out of the four guys escaped. I was all the way up near the NE airfield upon receiving notice of this and decided to run south to find him. I ran over 4000m to his general location then crawled another 400m so I wouldn't be noticed. I was wearing camo clothing and zombie face skin at the time, so I somewhat blended in with the foliage around me. Some of my friends decided to run back to their bodies and act as a decoy, so I waited. Sure enough I heard a gunshot within at least 300m and one of ours went down. From the sound of it we knew it was a 12.7x99mm, not sure whether a AS50 or M107, but I knew that if I got hit once, it was over. I got up and charged towards the gunshot, my heart pounding like crazy. I never expect to be this scared PVPing in a simulator before, just the the thought of him being anywhere in a ghillie, and using a .50 cal made my hands tremble. I ran through a village just west of Solnichniy, all the way up to the top of the mountain with the small radio tower, and went prone. Trying to calm down in-game and over teamspeak. Soon as I started to relax I saw what looked like a running bush from the corner of my eye, it was him! I tracked him down the mountain, but lost sight quickly, began to shake again thinking he saw me. Sure enough he stopped, turned around and saw me. At that moment I began to zig zag back and forth in front of this cold blooded medic hunter. I'm not sure why but he pulled out his M9SD instead of his M107, (maybe he thought I was a zombie doing the usual zig zag) and he began to take aim. Finally I got a hold of myself and stopped, aimed my M4A1 SD, and unloaded an entire clip on him, from head to toe, he was filled with bullet holes. Finally he dropped. I just killed the medic hunter, pretty sure his name was Vooku or Vooduk. I looted his M107,and ammo, and logged out from the excitement. Finally logged back in, took some more loot, and took a screenshot. http://s16.postimage...unter_Vooku.png DayZ truly is the only game where I have felt that much emotion, remorse, and relief from getting a kill.
