I'm curious, do you hunt people down by cheating or do you hunt people fairly....

Ping spiralling out of control
DonkiiPuncH replied to DonkiiPuncH's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Ok thank you for your help. Ahh im not much of a computer person so how would I do that though on Win 7 lol? FYI after posting this I tried again and it worked, on a low pop ANZ server, but it worked fine. I kid you not tho I tried at least 10 before it and tried different fixes I found in the forums but to no avail. Oh, but no loot was spawning so I guess that was my trade off :( Using the Six launcher too BTW -
Hi wondering if anyone can help. Everytime I join a server today, I will join and have a ping of 50ms or under, however when the game loads it does so very slowly and I either get kicked for having a ping too high before it finished loading or I will load in and it will be extremely laggy and I will get kicked after a few minutes for the same reason. The last game I got kicked from my ping was 15439, apparently im playing from the moon! Ive tried everything I can think of to try and solve this (reset the comp/modem, cleaned my registry, turned off all other programs except my AV, etc). Ive tried launching from the six launcher, the game itself, but nothing makes a difference. It isnt just on 1 server, its happening on them all (Australian and NZ anyway). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
DonkiiPuncH replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
As a kid I jumped my fair share of fences with barbed wire, alot of the time with a gutful of booze. So if a tanked up teenager can climb up and go over barbed wire, why cant an adult, who possibly has military experience. Player characters should be able to navigate through, sure it should slow them down, even cut them so they need to bandage themselves, but IRL barbed wire fencing is nothing more than a deterent, not a impenetrable barrier! Agree with the zombies though. They dont have the brains to negotiate through. Only brains they have now are the ones they eat! ;) -
40 Suggestions to Improve Realism and Immersion
DonkiiPuncH replied to jaws4096's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Awesome list, some very good ideas and alot of thought put into them. I think that most are great, however my concern is that making things too realistic could be a deterrent for alot of casual players. I completely understand that the emphasis is on realism, however alot of people might find that the controls/systems are too complicated an thus will not play. Now I know that alot of people will welcome that in a way as you wont have noobish players running about, however from a business perspective it doesnt make alot of sense as it will impact sales of the game. However in saying that, Rocket and co. have done a wonderful job so far so I'm sure they will get the balance right in the end product. The only thing I can really think of to add at this time, and it kind of carries on from the fishing suggestion( which id love to be included BTW) is to add more boats. There is a massive coastline in the game and something like 4 boats. Where are all the boats? If we want to talk realistic I would say that there would be boats docked all over the place as is the case with any coastline/body of water anywhere. Sure it might defeat the purpose of battling to survive the Zombie Apocalypse if im just floating about fishing in the ocean but isnt the game about surviving your way? Plus I think that there would be some military vessels around the place too considering all the other military bits and bobs around the place. It would be cool to search a Navy Battleship docked somewhere like Cherno. Anyway cool list congrats again! -
HUD changes, Bring back the Murder/ Bandit count please!!!
DonkiiPuncH replied to DonkiiPuncH's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
LOL. I dont think its so unreasonable to know when you have actually killed someone. For example when I was playing earlier today, my brother and I came down from the NW airfield to the starry sobor tents and there were 2 players there searching the tents. As I was running through the bush to flank them from the east my brother opened fire on one. He hit him and the guy ran into a tent then logged out, as did his companion. Now at the time we didnt know that they had, we didnt know if he was dead or hiding in there, where the other one had gone or anything. What also made this even more confusing was that another person completely unrelated to our incident died just after this all took place. I crept down and couldnt hear any flies so we decided that they must have logged as the zombies had mostly disappered. So about ten minutes later they both logged back in (on the hill mind you, not the tents, so they had gone to another server and moved positions tsk tsk) and proceeded to try find us. Didnt work out for them as we did kill one and the other bitched out again. The beauty of this game is that you can play it your way. Yes it might be about survival but I gave up trying to "survive" by building a basecamp with tents, supplies, vechiles etc a long time ago after the script kiddies started dropping me from sky, nuking servers and the like. For me its more a more productive use of my time to find a weapon and hunt. Weird how someone playing a FPS would want to shoot people huh? Each to their own. -
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! Love random shit like this!

HUD changes, Bring back the Murder/ Bandit count please!!!
DonkiiPuncH replied to DonkiiPuncH's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah I dont really care about the kill count itself, I'm not fussed with numbers and tbh I usually dont get that many kills each life as I rarely find silenced weapons so when I start shooting I attract half the population and end up getting hunted down also. I more or less just want to know when I'VE gotten the kill. More for the fact that I can gloat to my brother that I got it. I dunno, for me not having it kind of takes away my enjoyment. -
HUD changes, Bring back the Murder/ Bandit count please!!!

So I have downloaded all the latest patches/ updates today and now the HUD (Debug monitor) is gone. To be honest I cant say I care too much. I get the reasons behind it, to make the game more realistic and thats fine. The blood, meh, I can tell when im in bad shape and generally by hunting game and using blood transfusions I stay well on top of it ( not that it matters since 90% of the time now I get killed by someone with a silenced whatever that drops me like a tonne of shit and dont get an opportunity to patch myself up anyway.). Humanity is the same too, most of the time its in negative, I hunt ppl, so thats fine. Dont really care how many zombies are around or how many ive killed. The thing that I think should stay are the Bandit/Murder counts, or at least have some way of knowing if you have killed someone. My reasoning for this is that I play as a group, we hunt as a pack. Usually when we come on ppl we all co-ordinate an attack and shoot together and up until today the HUD was the only way of telling who got the kill. Now its like ummm... did I get him or....did you..... it has diminished bragging rights. Now I know that in reality, if a group of ppl opened fire on a person/people that there would be no way of telling who made the fatal shot, short of a lengthy forensic investigation, but at the end of the day, this is a game. For those who play as Bandits (Arseholes :P) we like to know that we got the kill. It is part of the fun. I hope they reconsider, or at least introduce another method of knowing if you got the kill. But regardless the Mod keeps getting better, keep up the good work guys! -
NZ 26 [UTC+7] 4:02pm hosted by Orcon
DonkiiPuncH replied to Bakerd's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Thats a bummer man. All to common now in DayZ, which sucks cos its brilliant. On a side note, all the NZ servers have disappeared from my server list along with most of the Aussie ones too. Any reason why this may be??? -
Possibly, but I dont think so. He RAN straight up the hill at him, wasnt concerned at at about being shot then stopped in front and of him and shot. Plus all the buggy shit afterwards is suss too IMO. Also after spawning in Kamenka and beginning to run back the same guy rode up to him on a bike just outside Kamenka and killed him again. He found a bike and got there real quick! I had only just finished writing the original post in that time. Then my bro spawned in Cherno, ran back to his original body and it was dropped. So whilst I strongly suspect him of cheating I am 100% certain he is a dick!

At roughly 8.45pm on server AU37 my brother was killed by a player named Purez. My brother was sniping from a hill above Electro, however he had joined the server only 10 minutes earlier and had not fired a shot, thus making it extremely unlikely that anyone knew he was there.(Yes I know lots of people do it but he was ridicously high up the hill so he could see everywhere). The player Purez literally ran up without making a sound (footsteps, etc) and killed my brother with a silenced assault rifle. After he died it said that he died from friendly fire. Went he went to respawn immediatly afterwards he was put in the middle of nowhere, with no items, bleeding and unable to escape a circle of characters spawned around him. He collapsed but got back up, was healed but still couldn't go anywhere so he had to kill himself. No doubt in my mind that Purez used some, if not many exploits to kill him. We have been playing on this server most of the day with no issues until this point.

A Story about a Hacker, my V3S, and my Winchester

Nice. And ROFL at the guy in the boat! -
Agree 100% with the grenade mechanics. It's sooooooooooo bad!

Totally feel your pain. I play games for fun. I play within the rules of the game but you are right. The fun has been taken out of this game. Which is such a shame, because I honestly think that this game, when played fairly, is one of the best and most enjoyable experiences in gaming (if you overlook the quirky bugs and stuff). I think everyone who plays legit is just hoping that when the real deal is released it will be a lot harder for these jerk off's to ruin it for us.
