What Vilayer is about - My personal resume

Hello out there,

and thanks to the Moderator who stumbles over this for not merging it with all the other threads so that it does not get burried under the shitstorm, thanks.

Many discussions have been around here and on Reddit in the last days about Vilayer and how they rip apart stuff to enlarge their monopol and outcome out of stuff they did not make. Well, as one of the "reasons" for this discussions I was very happy to hear from Vilayer and that they want to talk to me about all of this to clear the things up. Because many people here have taken "my" side or the side of the community and unleashed a shitstorm on HFB, Vilayer and DayZ Commander I felt like sharing the results of the chats and how I see Vilayer now as I was lucky enough to meet Lee, the guy behind Vilayer.

So, this is what Vilayer is about in my opinion. Vilayer are a hosting company that offers Servers, not only for DayZ but other games like minecraft etc., never the less they hold a big part of the overall Dayz servers that are out there. But they are more then just a company that benefits from this mod, they actualy give many things back to us, the community of this mod, and not only to their customers, although this suspicion may arise when you hear about them. The problem is that they are not operating in the public yet. They have great dreams and projects they are working on to not only improve their customer service but of all improve the experience we all get when playing dayz. Their plan is to gather all the intelligence, support and work done by the community and done for the community under one name and high standard to bring it to all of the players, This includes map ports, a global hive, new features like traveling between islands, bringing communitys and the players closer together and offering a huge knowledge base and plattform for exchange. This project is called DayzPlanet, some of you may have heared of it, I did not.

And this is basically one of the main reasons why this missunderstanding happened. While the team on Lee's (Head of Vilayer) side is working hard to bring this project further they do not promote it. So, all the actions that are taken in perparation of this project like offering maps, the good relation between dayz commander and Vilayer or holding back intel or files have never been associated with the actual reason behind it but have led to the picture we all have of Vilayer, they are a greedy monopolist company. All this misscredit is founded only on the fact that they want to hold a certain high standard and ensure the maximum of joy when playing dayz and hold all the scum like hackers away by not releasing their files to not expose a possible security leak.

What I realised when talking to some of the guys at Vilayer is that we basicaly have the same goal, provide fun for the community. We have just taken different ways and failed to communicate about problems that came up in a proper way from the very first beginning. While I regret nothing I did, because I dont deny my feelings,

I have to admitt that I was mistaken about what Vilayer is and the reasons of their actions. Of course not everything they did was done correctly but thats the result of missing experience and different ways of thinking about some stuff and not done on purpose thats what I'm sure about now.

When you ask me it was good that the "big bang" happened because in the end I'm glad that I could get in contact in Lee and found the truth about what is realy going on there and that they are not the evil company everyone wants to see in them. Of course I cant say anything related to their business because I dont rent a server with them but have my own box. From the human and community side I can say that there is nothing bad about them.

I can only ecourage everyone out here who had or has a problem with them to follow Lee's offer and get in contact with him and have a little chat. I personaly will help them with their project by my best of knowledge in the future to improve everyone experience out of DayZ.

And to be faster then the next bad troll: No they dont pay me for this and no my head is not in somebodys ass, I was just proven wrong.
