MrCoolBean 0 Posted October 13, 2012 I have my own steam account and he has the retail version. We are connected via WiFi to the same network.Everytime we join a server one of us gets kicked off the game..What can we do?
jericho1418 2 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) add to your launch parameters in steam properties " -port=2350" or if you use dayz commander go to options and enter that (without the quotes) in extra launch parameters. Arma 2 does not automatically change ports for another person connecting on the same router. Edited October 13, 2012 by jericho1418

MrCoolBean 0 Posted October 13, 2012 Yea it would look like that.Well it's not really working...what else can I do?I've gone into 1 server before on 2 diff comps w/o any problem but now i'm just getting kicked. It's a non hive server, maybe thats why?
jericho1418 2 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) I had the same problem I recommend that you use only steam when launching dayz while you both try to play. Your brother can continue to use dayzcommander normally enter this in your launch options on steam. "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@Dayz -port=2350" (without quotes). Just copy and paste this exactly into your steam properties. This should solve your problem. Private hive should not matter didn't for me.Edit: There is a "-" in front of beta just pasted weird. jericho1418 2 Posted October 13, 2012 Hmm to make sure its just you putting that launch command in right not both of you. If not that it might have something to do with your firewall but unfortunately can't help you there. Arma 2 uses 2302 as the default port as as long as you change it to anything but 2305, 2307 you can try that. You could technically change the port to 2303 because it goes up in values of 2. I don't think the port matters, but I could be wrong.
