If I were to change my active Arma 2 profile...

Would it essentially give me a "new" character?

Example:

I join the server on my main profile, Oven Chips. I'm standing in the NW airfield with a Remington 870, Ammo/Supplies.

Then, I go to the main menu, and make a new profile called Oven Chips 2, if I then join the server again, would I be at the airfield with my Remington .etc or would I get a separate character with starter gear somewhere along the coastline?

I've been wondering this for the past few hours but I don't want to risk losing anything trying to do so.

No sir it will not it should only change your name, did i similar name change a few days ago while out by novy and my save stayed the same my name just changed.

I think data is tied to your copy of the game.
