catface.jpg 75 Posted October 11, 2012 The number of players in last 24 hours has been tanking ever since I started playing. From about 200,000 to now less than 50,000. Recently, I stopped playing public hive to avoid murderers and cheaters. I started playing on my own home private hive, running on a spare machine in the house. My wife and friend join over LAN or Hamachi. I realized I no longer counted as a Day Z player on the website, since I'm not connecting to public hive. So I wonder...for how many people is this true?I wonder if people are just ditching public hive to avoid hackers - and I wonder how many. Maybe people aren't leaving the game, maybe they're just leaving the hive.
sturmwaffles 38 Posted October 11, 2012 Likely. I left because of hackers.
guidez 180 Posted October 11, 2012 I still have plenty of people playing on my Private Server. It's admin'ed very regular, and virtually hacker free due to whitelisting and what not. Plus, Private Servers allow you to find a server that is managed the way YOU like it, not just how the developers want it.For example, we play an as-vanilla as possible DayZ server, with some changes. Notably, no hueys (replaced with two armored humvee's), and players are not allowed to make camps/park-vehicles outside of the map.
Deadly7 2 Posted October 11, 2012 I noticed it too, I began playing Dayz soon after the release, left for 2 months and now it seems very empty from were it once was. Honestly the state of the game, atm is sh**, hopefully the stand alone will bring people back.
