I just bought Arma II and installed Dayz

Hey,

I just bought the game and installed Dayz,

Every server i try to join tells me:

I bought the game over steam 5 minutes ago. (Arrowhead+Dayz)

I owned Arma II before

Very bad bro, indeed. A clan member had exactly the same experience - he used ***, got banned, "removed" the hack, purchased new ArmA2 from newly installed Steam, etc. - and guess what - he got banned again the minute he logged with the "new" installation. So... he had to purchase 3rd copy of ArmA2 but before installation he wiped his computer and re-installed Windows. Your problem is that the hack is still there or Steam is just a crappy program. On your own risk you can buy ArmA2 from a non-Steam vendor and try again. You can also look more carefully in to removing the hack instead of the wipe.

If you update your CD Key, but then run game from steam again, it will overwrite your new key with your banned old key. You have regedit the old key out of steam to prevent this from happening. Next time, don't hack and you won't have this headache.

so heres the back story.

I had arrowhead before, what happened is that i wasnt able to update Arrowhead to the most recent beta patch.

so i asked for help. I got a message telling me that he would help me over TeamViewer. I accepted, he did this and that (I was kinda stupid, he messed with the regedit files).

Two days later suddenly someone used the same key as i did. (meaning he stole mine)

At that point i was kinda bored of dayz anyways so i allways logged back into my account and suicided and then logged off again.

This didnt make him happy, so the next thing i know i got banned for scripting. He acctually injected a script to me somehow.

I am not a genius in computers, so i dont know what i should do about that script. A friend deleted The Arrowhead files in Regedit, i reinstalled it completly. I cant reinstall windows because i dont have the cd for it. Besides I have 1TB of video material.

You cant tell me that i am getting banned a second time in a row for not doing anything!!

And Battleye doesnt answer ****.

The ban is an admin ban, meaning the server admin banned you, not BE. I don't know how Steam works but it seems like Steam is still using your old key.

For some reason I doubt that you're on the Community Ban list for no reason... and sure you"just bought the game".
