BloodGuard 0 Posted October 10, 2012 Hi all,New to DayZ but currently enjoying for what is it (sim where u will eventually die!)On my second day of play (wont mention the 1st day- embarrasing!) i ran across 9 tents stocked full of everything u can imagine from common to very rare weapons, food, water- u name it it was there!!Filled my rucksack but got sniped 5 seconds after leaving the tents (guardian?).....is this a hack to have so much equipment stacked? The location of the tents as far as i can remember is a massive rock standing upright - north east along the beach just before the last town top right of the map- sorry but i dont know the town names yetBandits no doubt but hackers too????On my third day now and getting to know the map- found a winchester but carnt use it- bug or is it because i'm carrying a hand gun- the winchester just wont rearm????If you see me in the game- dont shoot me ;), say friendly or something (unless your a bandit i guess as its in their nature)- looking to team upBloodGuard (Mark from UK)- Waiting to try out warz on 15th october- anybody else? Friday N 49 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Glad you're enjoying it... don't mention warz around here though!1) Camp could have been hackers, more likely to have been well geared clan. Just because they were kitted doesnt mean they were bandits though, there's medic clans etc2) Scroll you mousewheel to switch primary/ secondary weapon, r to reload. If you've done this, are you sure you have the right ammo? Also, the ammo and gun need to be in your inventory rather than rucksack3) If you want to team up there's some stickied threads around to help you do this4) Dont shoot me if you meet me  Edited October 10, 2012 by Friday N
BloodGuard 0 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Noob question- how do i put items into rucksack rather than belt??- looks all the same to meGot the winchester from a ruined castle along with a crap handgun but lottsa ammo- will try what u suggestedAlso dont find the zombies (zeds?) that scary/dangerouse anymore lol...u can run rings around a few of them (unless you get trapped), dodge by running around a house etc or going up a hill- i normally get killed mainly now by snipers, bandits or run outta water!Thankshave u found your heli yet? Friday N 49 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) The bag thing is too complicated to explain on forum - try youtube, dayzguidez off the top of my head- any tutorial will help, its not intuitive. The dayz wiki will help you check which ammo goes with which gun and answer alot of other q you may have.Re zombies, yes, become little more than a nuisance 90% of the time, they can break your leg though easily, then you're f*cked without morphine. They also alert other players to where you are when they 'aggro'. Youre going to get killed a lot by other players till youre a bit more experienced... plus at the moment there's alot of kitted out people due to duping, hacking and the lack of hive wipes.Helicopter- eh? dont know what youre on about!Fridayedit: also, if you dont find it scary, play at night time without turing up your monitor brightness or anything like than :o Edited October 10, 2012 by Friday N
okami (DayZ) 129 Posted October 10, 2012 Just one tip regarding the infected (that would be the correct term in zombie-science ;) ), dont underestimate them. They are easy most of the time, but i can remember one time when i was fully equipped, had played for 2 month and ran past a zombie, he hit me and i got the instant bleed + instant leg break. i decided to morphine first to be able to run away and when i stood up i got 1 hit and fell unconscious. In the end i died, fully equipped and quite experienced, from 1 infected. They have nerfed the possibility of instant leg breaks since then but still, don`t take them too easy in the beginning! BloodGuard 0 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) I believe i came across one of your members Joe on my very first day of dayz!- he killed a zombie with his car(zombie stuck in fence after he rammed it- glitch?!) that was chasing me!Your site looks interesting and even more your willingness to help us noobs! will most certainly check it out thanksI agree about the zombies- dont understimate them!- i ran into a building on my 4th day of dayz play and the zombie just followed me in. even after i had closed the door- i thought zombies couldnt open doors!!Noticed zombies dont like harbours or bridges- they seem not to cross the harbour concrete and walk very slowly when approaching a bridge. Friday N 49 Posted October 11, 2012 See, picking it up already bud, harbours zeds dont like- you're right there, they also dont like- pine trees (you can 'hide' in the middle of low hanging ones and they cant get you- sometimes works foor bushes)- steep hills- running inside- hatchets (silent, usually one hit kill, unlimited 'ammo', range about 3-5 foot)Things they do like:- smoke grenades - use this to your advantage, if you dont mind alerting every player for a mile- climbing - dont think because you shimmy up that deer stand they arent going to follow you- military hangers- they run inside these, careful- one exit buildings, I swear I heard a zed laugh when I was a noob and ran into a one exit building, I shot him but not his 10 friends.
