To the server admins out there

Recommended Posts

This is a question that I have been thinking about for a while and would like to ask to those who pay to host their own servers, specifically, public hives.

When DayZ standalone comes out, do you intend to keep paying for and running your own server on Arma 2 OA, providing that there is still the option to do so? I'd assume that more private hive owners would continue to run their servers compared to public hive, but I'd like to hear what people have to say about this.

Good question and something i havn't overly thought about being an admin myself. Tough question also as i would like to keep the private server after the standalone is released but i would also want to get a standalone server being as i would obviously be playing it more than the mod once it's released.

Again it's something it seems i need to think about, mainly because i love hosting a server for people to play on but i don't want to take one thing away to start another even though eventually i know i will switch to Standalone.. it's just a matter of when.

When the game is released, we will probably keep paying for our server as its fairly popular, we will still play the standalone.

If it lives up to the hype, and we are allowed to host as a community, then we will probably switch over, if the mod remains more popular we will probably stick to the mod though.
