A lot of games let the game executable take arguments to customize how the game should start (usually to skip stuff like intros etc). It would be nice if the standalone had the same because then you can create a desktop shortcut with your own favourite settings for faster startup.

Example:

dayz.exe -skipintro -connect 129.129.129.0:11111 -user player1 -passwd s3cr3t -join

Well, you can probably guess what that would do. It would be best if this was combined with a final confirmation dialog when everything's loaded and ready (suggested here).
