GypsyGoat 0 Posted October 9, 2012 I need help using my microphone in-game. I've searched for internet for days, but couldn't find a solution to my problem. Can anybody help me?-I know how to communicate. Period or comma to switch channels, caps lock to talk via VON, / to type.-I don't launch DayZ via Steam, so I don't think setting up my mic on Steam will help. I launch DayZ with SixLauncher.-I've reinstalled DayZ as well as ArmA II: Combined Operations both atleast once.-My mic works on Skype and Teamspeak.-Whenever a program that uses my mic is on, a blue light appears on the mic. For example, whenever I'm in a Skype call, the blue light shows up. When I launch Teamspeak, the blue light shows up.However, when I launch DayZ, the blue light doesn't show up. Not even when I press my PTT button.-I haven't actually used my mic in Direct Communications to ask if anybody could hear me, but I've tried in Side Chat VON, and nobody seemed heard me.However, I know Direct Communications wouldn't work anyways since the blue light on my mic doesn't appear. What do I do? Mos1ey 6301 Posted October 9, 2012 Is your mic set as the default input device?
GypsyGoat 0 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) My mic is the default input device, yes. I have disabled all other devices under the "Recording" section of Sound Settings, and clicked on "Make Default." Not sure if the button's actually "Make Default," but yeah. I'm pretty sure it's the default device. Also, I've been redirected to that thread probably a million times, Apelgrandure. I can't try Solution 1 since I launch DayZ with SixLauncher, and I have my "Microphone" Audio setting to more than halfway, as said in Solution 3. As stated in my first post, I don't launch via Steam either, (I launch with SixLauncher, as if you haven't already heard that a million times from me.), so Solution 4 won't work for me. Lastly, I've been on tons of servers, and I haven't yet had my blue light appear on my mic. Surely I've been on one that was the correct version? Apelgrandure 18 Posted October 10, 2012 I launch DayZ with SixLauncherThis makes no difference, if you launch with sixlauncher you can still run the game as adminstrator. Follow my steps on how to do it in the thread I linked you. I also run the game through sixlauncher and that is how i got my mic working.sorry to keep redirecting you to the same thread but thats the only way I can help you.Hope you get it working! GypsyGoat 0 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Solution 1 still doesn't work. Should I also run it in a particular compatibility mode? I'm on Vista. Edited October 11, 2012 by GypsyGoat
GypsyGoat 0 Posted October 12, 2012 I would also like to add that the microphone appears when I hold my PTT button, and that I don't launch SixLauncher through Steam.
GypsyGoat 0 Posted October 13, 2012 Bumpity bump, does anybody know what I should do?
Apelgrandure 18 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) I would also like to add that the microphone appears when I hold my PTT button, and that I don't launch SixLauncher through Steam.Really wish I could be of more help but if you have tried everything in the thread I linked you then im really not sure how I can help.Try setting sixlauncher to run arma 2 OA through steam, then check your steam setting for your microphone and make sure it works through steamThats the only other suggestion I can think to tell you to tryGood luck!EDIT :Compatibility mode could also work, try setting it on different modes (XP etc) to see if any of them get your mic workingEDIT 2 :I have disabled all other devices under the "Recording" section of Sound SettingsThis could be causing problems, I just rememberd a friend of mine doing the same. This is a bad idea, rather enable all recording and sound devices they might co-depend on one another thus your mic not working.
