No. if no one can help you, shadows always go north. So put the shadows of the trees so they point to your left, and start walking. You'll run into a road.

If you walk for an hour or so in 1 direction you'll either go off the map or hit the coast..

Look at the sun, judge the direction of it based on the time of day..Profit.

Let me ask you this...Where does it say you are when you log in? Also, is the ground grassy or dirt? Any trees around? or just "plains"?

You're going in circles if you go 4 hours without running into anything. Choose one direction by the clouds of the shadows and walk. You must be well geared if you made it 4 hours without dying. It takes 3 minutes to run a thousand meters. So you've run around the map several times by now with 4 hours....

Woah, little fella! No need to kill yourself! :) All good advice above. Are you running or walking? 4 hours is a long time to be walking and not come across any towns or buildings or zombies. It is possible that you're running North and have entered The Wilderness, which is off map. There's nothing to be found up there. Do you have a watch? Obviously a compass but would be great because you could head south east and get to the coast where there are lots of towns/buildings/food/water but if you don't a watch can help you roughly work out what direction you're heading. Here's a link to the dayz wiki site with how to use your ingame watch to find North, which means you can then find South, East and West! http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/How_to_find_North

But look up at the clouds. They ALWAYS travel east, so you can just as easily find the other directions too! I think you should run South East, so you know you're at least heading in the direction of the map. If you end up dying of thirst or food, at least you tried, and you were thinking of suiciding. But this way you have chance. Come back and tell us how you get on. It'd be interesting to know.

Lol, don't try this. Shadow's do not always point north considering that the sun is moving from east to west. The clouds always move from west to east though, that's a fact.

Ok, you didn't run in the same direction if it's been two hours....You've got to run in the SAME DIRECTION. You'll make it to either the edge of the map, the coast, or a road/town. Don't navigate by the moon. And by the shadows, I meant most of the time they point generally north. Everytime I have a clan member lost and we check the shadows for him, they're either pointing north east or north west. So check the clouds, the shadows, and run the same way. See, watching your vids, you're just running. In the dark. No sense of direction. No sense of anything. Just running. No wonder you're lost.

And yes, logging back in will tell you just wilderness unless you're near a town.
