Instead, just a timer would be shown to the player. This way, the one objective you can have is survive as long as possible. Might stop people playing for kills so much, but will definitely promote survival instincts. Maybe.2) RPG sort of leveling upNot really RPG, but its the only way I could describe it. Maybe the longer you stay alive, the further you can sprint. This way, you gain an advantage from staying alive longer. Not much of an advantage, but enough to give an extra incentive to stay alive.I'm not too sure about that second one, maybe if you can carry more stuff if you stay alive longer, or you gain a slight night vision. Publik 404 Posted June 14, 2012 1. Yes. The only thing displayed should be how long you've been alive, not how many murders or bandits or zeds you've killed. The counter (and the server connect/disconnect/kill feed) can be used to be sure if you've killed someone, IE shoot a guy until you're credited with the kill. It doesnt even have to be present artificially, maybe you spawn with the watch or something. You need to be able to count it fairly accurately for it to be more compelling. Officious (DayZ) 4 Posted June 14, 2012 1. No, I like knowing how many zeds are on the map, how many I've killed and how many by head shot. It's a personal challenge to keep the percentage of kills by head shot up and it's nice knowing how many. It also feels good to know I've killed Xhundred zombies this life, and then when I die, watching me rack up more zed kills.As for the player kill counter I like it, I don't pursue players but if you're in the way and i think you're a threat you get killed. It's nice knowing how many times I've done (or how few times) I've done it. I like seeing zombies spawn and the count go up gives me a better idea of what I'm dealing with when I walk into a town.Additionally I don't want a timer it would piss me off to have it ticking every minute or hour that I play.2. The leveling system would break the game, it would be an in scentive to stay alive longer. But if you make it too much of a grind to attain said attributes, then it wont be worth it when you get killed.As for your sprinting suggestion, the game would blow if you could only run/spring for X amount of time.
