Most likely places to find matches?

Matches are super rare, and when you don't have a hospital near by, you need other means of getting blood by making a fire to then cook meat and get blood from the meat.

Are there any places where matches are often found?

Also, is there any other way to make a fire other than use matches? Or is there any other way to cook meat without a wood-pile made camp fire?

yep supermarkets, most times I've found them it's been there.

According to the loot list: Residential, Office & Church all spawn matchboxes - but only 1.68% chance

I found some matches in one of those big red houses, with 2 doors opposite each other and 2 rooms connected together.

Most likely places probably churches or supermarkets since they have such a high # of loot spots. Never thought to cook meat on the hobo barrels, that certainly changes things.

I found mine in the market at Zelenogorsk, took me 3 evenings of scavenging the city and the villages south of it to find them, but maybe I'm just unlucky.

Hmm, where are some spots that have those "hobo barrels". I've only seen a few, 1 being at the construction site next to the crane in Cherno. Problem is, I'm in-land and I'm no way near Cherno.

The only barrels I know of are in cherno. There might be some in elektro as well.

As for finding matches, look for any residential building with a high number of loot spots. Your best bet is going to be:

Churches

Supermarkets

Barns

Apartment buildings (in cherno)

Restaurants (there are three or four of those in downtown cherno)

The restaurants and apartment buildings are dangerous (since they're right in town) but they have a huge number of loot spots. I've found multiple matchbooks in those in the past.

Restaurants in particular seem pretty nice, I get the feeling that not a lot of people know about them, so they aren't picked over as often as other spots.

There's also a barrel at the military tents in Starry Sobor, if you're feeling particularly suicidal.

Matches are hard as hell to find. I had to go to 10+ residential spawns before I finally found them in a church.
