So killed a guy that had a whole bunch of killer gear and also a L85A2 that is the British gun with thermal and night vision optics. So anyways the guy came back literally 10 mins later with all the same gear! Luckily I killed him again and informed a DEV about the cheater and he got banned.

But the question is if someone didn't know the gun was hacked in and was using it after picking it up off a body, would he be in danger of being banned?

You should be fine the L85A2 AWS is a legitimet weapons in DayZ

but the real question is whether or not you feel OK with using a weapon that you know was "cheated" in

LoLz to the fact you pop'ed a hacker and stole his stuff though

but if you are that worried just ditch the gun and ammo ASAP
