Andurian 7 2 Posted October 6, 2012 In real life your bones regenerate health so you should regenerate about 7 blood a second. When you get shot you don't bleed that much but the initial hit should take 100 blood away instantly but should take .4 blood a second. To start healing you need over half food and 3 quarters water.

Skat3rat 1633 Posted October 6, 2012 No blood is technically health in this game. If getting shot takes away 100 blood, then it will be like COD. Most people won't want that.
Zombie Gladiator 10 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) lol at Naroidoro's post...Was that an ad for something?Random keywords thrown in...Terrible grammar...That was interesting to read... Edited October 6, 2012 by Zombie Gladiator
ybm 111 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) I want to keep it the way it is, because it takes out the need for blood bags and food if you can just sit there and regenerate health.lol at Naroidoro's post...Was that an ad for something?Random keywords thrown in...Terrible grammar...That was interesting to read...I don't even know how to respond to his post, so i'm not going to try. pawlzz 18 Posted October 7, 2012 The problem is, that people would regenarate to 12k in bushes when AFK. The game should be hard. And yes, shooting damage and blood system doesn't completely fit to each other, but after 1-2 shots from an AR in the chest you really should be near death. So yeah, they have to deal 3500-8000 blood damage each shot, even if it's not realistic in the "blood" aspect.Nevertheless, it's more realistic this way.
mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) You couldn't regen blood while AFK if your blood stopped filling when you were hungry, thirsty or cold.IRL you need to keep your body healthy, hydrated, fed and comfortable to aid healing. So it should be that way in DayZ.Make hunger go down faster when you're healing, but make food only fill hunger NOT blood. So to fill 12000 blood you would have to eat maybe 4 steaks, but over the course of an hour or two, while your body heals. And a blood bag should give a maximum of 3000 blood back over a couple of minutes instead of just making you fine again instantly. It would make running away the better option in some situations, and would make you even more wary of most encounters with players.EDIT: You should also naturally heal 20% faster while sitting at a campfire (resting) Edited October 8, 2012 by Chabowski

mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted October 8, 2012 Would need someone who's better with numbers than I am to make it fit, but I just like the idea of having to manage the state of your health. To heal over time makes sense, and suits the survival theme better than having to eat your bodyweight in beans because you've been shot.I like the idea of constant healing but at different rates. If hunger was measured as a percentage, a sliding scale could calculate your "regen% per second" behind the scenes as different actions make you more hungry, and different foods fill you up for varying times and different amounts. If all the numbers and calculations are hidden from us (no debug menus or health bars) it would feel natural, as long as it's obvious when you're weakened, and you can tell when you're getting hungry. (different idle animations or something?)I just thought healing should burn your hunger down faster because I imagined food purely as fuel for your body, and whether it would help to heal you up or not, you wouldn't be able to eat unless you were already hungry. (without making yourself sick)

ProfessorKoble 17 Posted October 10, 2012 Everything that you say here is wrong, If you were shot you would start bleeding rapidly, Obviously you dont know what it is like to be shot at. It always depends were you get shot at to bleed rapidly. But even if you were shot at by the leg you would start bleeding.
Andurian 7 2 Posted October 10, 2012 that depends on the size of the rond pistols should cause much less bleed ing then a sniper riflr should but i see your point
