Low FPS

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just started playing Day Z last night and from the get go, I've noticed that it felt like the FPS was very low. I looked up ways to optimize my FPS and such, and after everything people have suggested, I get 30-40 FPS, which is ridiculously low for my computer's specs. When watching people's videos on youtube, the quality AND smoothness of the game isn't comparable to what I am experiencing. Anyone have any idea what may be the cause of this, and how I could possibly fix it so I can enjoy the game?

Specs

CPU: i5-2500K @ 4.00GHz

RAM: 8192MB

GPU: MSI N460GTX Cyclone 1GD5/OC

Depends on your graphic settings, but as ArmA II is very demanding, 30-40 FPS is commensurate for GTX 460...

I, for example, am running it on the lowest details with approx. 25 FPS on my HD 5670...
