M4A3 CCO accuracy

Recommended Posts

I recently found this great assault rifle but noticed that the accuracy is sometimes WAYY off. When i'm in a standing position and aim down the sights, the rifle hits with great accuracy at fairly long distances. But in other instances when i'd be crouched/laying down in the grass, 10m away from a zombie and aim for the head (my guy is not breathing hard, not injured, and everythig is in the green), the bullet ends up flying about 1.5 heads higher than the zombie. I know this because when a zombie was walking near a wall, i clearly aimed at his head and pulled the trigger (my red dot was exactly on his head-10m away) and the bullet hit the wall about 1ft above. To kill this zombie, i had to aim for the stomach and it only took one shot (im guessing the reason it took one bullet is because it ended up being a head-shot).

Im not a bad shot and played shooting games for a long time, and keeping my sight on a slow moving target REALLY close to me is not the problem. So my question is this: Am I missing something/doing something wrong? Or might this be a bug?

BTW i never experienced this problem while playing AMRA II OA

Is it the SD version? SD rounds seem to aim a bit higher than others.

As far as i know, theres no SD version of the M4A3 CCO, but your right. If you use a STANAG SD mag in it, it will hit higher than you aim...

Tested it today, if you use SD rounds (As I regularly do on zombies) It tends to go higher than the aiming reticle. It isn't this extreme with the M4A1 CCO, but the overall accuracy and recoil of that weapon are inferior to that of the M4A3.

Here you go, the SD version: http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/M4A1_CCO_SD . It's my fav gun apart from the MK 48 Mod 0.

I had this problem the other day, I thought the server was glitched out not allowing headshots until I saw the bullet impact a tree about half a meter above the zombies head, bit annoying now that all I have is 12 SD mags :(
