vital 2 Posted October 5, 2012 so me and my friend buy server boxes left and right and he runs 2 companies a web hosting and a game server hosting. he took most of his boxes for web hosting and tf2 servers which have not failed him yet and after talking with him we made a dayz server but we still have alot of room on are boxes for more dayz servers so we where thinking about selling some space for people to buy dayz servers at 30$ for a 50 slot 75$ for 100 per month dose anyone have any suggestions for pricing are do u guys think that its a good price for a dayz server we also have everything u need to run the server and we will do the install for windows and all that would really like some good feedback because we want to get this rolling right now we sell tf2 servers for like 20$ for a 32 slot so we undercut alot of people and we have no problem doing that for dayz because we want people to enjoy gaming on a good server with out costing a arm and a leg
urbanfox 116 Posted October 5, 2012 $75 for 100 slots? That's the price of a dedicated machine... Not to mention I highly doubt you have something that is going to be able to run 100 slots...Either way, $30 for 50 slots is a great price, although slot count doesn't seem to matter much anymore.Regardless, good luck. Also, what CPU do you think is going to be able to handle a 100 slot server? ARMA is not multithreaded.
Mentize 21 Posted October 5, 2012 At the moment we currently pay £20 (32$) for our 42slot server, and that's at a discount cause we have a dedi-box with the same company.so i guess around 35/40$ is the norm for the minimum dayz server.

ARMA is not multithreaded.I would be shocked because people doesn't play on servers with more that 20/30 people anymore to avoid hacking, I think 30 bucks for the 50 slot one is good, and maybe don't offer a 100 slots maybe 75-80 slots would be good for a bit lessFor the standalone, apparently there would be close to 200 ppl per server and by then there won't be so many hacking issues (and if there are, it wouldn't be like now, where the hacker tp everybody to the thunderdome and turn them into rabbits, that would get them globally banned pretty easy) so people may play on populated servers, the people that will play on non populated servers will basically be the pussies who doesn't want to get killed, SO ANYWAY, by then maybe a high cap server would be a good option for a clan or somebody who wants a server, but not now
