Standalone : Gameplay Difficulty

Recommended Posts

Title says it all and I'm gonna keep it simple. DayZ is easy. Really easy. The main enemy, zeds, is nothing but a mere distraction. The real threat are bandits, but that's a different story.

I just want to know and see if you guys feel the same way that the zombie horde is really not a difficulty in the game. If you get chased after, just pass through a building and lose the pack. Takes about 50 hits before you start feeling the need to fall unconscious or break a leg.

Usually, I don't QQ with barebone arguments like these but I just want to know if others think DayZ has gotten too easy once you have about a week of experience.

I agree with you, DayZ at the moment seems like deathmatch with zombies. Too repetitive and boring.

It's been said 100 times that the zombies WILL BE DANGEROUS* in the Standalone, why do you all have the need to point out that they are too easy now?

The mod is based on a combat simulation, the zombies in the mod are based on the soldies from the simulation that have an AI of the soldiers, they zig-zag, and try to flank you and their weapons are taken away form them. What do you expect?

The only thing hard in dayz is my erection for alone time in the woods

The trees aren't the only wood in the forest.

It depends on what "dangerous" means. Having super fast 1-hit killer zombies isn't on the same level of difficulty as having a huge horde of weak slow moving zombies who could wear you down over time. I'm curious to see how they are made to be more of a threat and if they can be threatening enough to cause a shake up in the way players interact.

I like the way some of the military spawn zeds work on Lingor. Each location is a bit different, but basically on some of them you can't get in there without killing them all. Then go in, which stops them from spawning, and clear out the loot quickly before the next wave spawns in. But they aren't all like that. There is a fair bit of variation between each. And you can't just completely ignore zeds on some of the loot locations like you can everywhere on Chernarus.
