Where is the best place to find a sniper rifle?

Ever since I started playing DayZ like 3 months ago. I have only ever found about 5 sniper rifles. 3 of them where on dead players. The other 2 snipers I found where the CZ 550 I found them in barns.

Am just wondering witch is the most likely place to find one. Am sick of the bush wookies in Elektro and Cherno and my aim now is to go into 30+ players servers and take out the snipers so other people have a chance to grab some loot in the towns. At the moment I just spawn on top of sniper hill and take them out from behind but I really want to snipe them to see how they like it.

You just answered yourself. Shearch for wookies around Elektro and Cherno, eliminate them from close ranger, take their gear.

Or you could just try the luck on NW Airfield, but I wouldnt count on it.

Deer Huts are one of the common places to find sniper rifles. Or NW airfield OR downed choppers...

I spend alot of time searching tents. For the time it takes to loot around you can score all your gear in one stocked tent.

tents are the real solution to everyone's problems. the only other thing you can do is being lucky, the best chance to find a sniper rifle (dayzdb data) is the 0.98% cz in barns or the 0.23% dmr in the nwa barracks. heli crash site % are not displayed in the website so i don't know.

Crash sites your going to find weapons like Bison and FNFAL. I don't think I've ever seen a sniper rifle spawn at one.

Tents aren't just going to pop out in front of you. Check the northern areas and anywhere else that seems logical.

I play almost everyday but only for an hour or 2. I have made countless trips to say Story Sobor but I have never found a sniper in there. Found plenty of GPS and M9 SD. I have found a lot of heli crash sites but again no snipers mostly FALS.

Farm type buildings have a chance of certain weapons, including the CZ.

If you repair the blue pickup, it spawns with a cz in it. FREEBIE!

I have found several M14's at crash sites. Other than that, tents are your best bet then the barracks in the NW airfield and barns for the CZ550. I have found a dmr a few times at medium yeild military loot spots like the Bolota air strip and NE airfield.

DMRs, m24s and both 50 cals can indeed be found at heli crashes.
