Corpses Disappearing

So I just managed to snipe a guy, and I ran up to loot him and he had an absolute ton of stuff I wanted, including a Light Machine Gun. Which I wanted to put in my backpack, but I couldn't.

So I exited the loot interface to drop the M1014 I have in my backpack, and as I drop it, the corpse sinks into the ground... What the hell?!

I can still hear the flies and everything, so now I didn't get to loot anything at all from that corpse. :/

I thought only Zombies and Players could hide bodies, and I was looting it and there were no zombies nearby!

Edit:

So I tried to connect to another server and then back to the Server with the Corpse to see if the corpse would be visible, but nope. Instead, I lost my CZ550 for whatever reason! But the shotgun is still in my backpack :S
