Fallujah is a model of the area around Mogadishu, the setting for the Black Hawk Down film based in Somalia, not iraq. God i love that film.

So the Fallujah map is not based on Fallujah at all?

Fallujah is a City in Iraq. I have been there, and fought there. This is a video of a firefight outside of a city in a map that was built for a video game. If the city was built after Mogadishu, Somalia they should have called it Mogadishu, right? To aviod confusion, of course.

By the way, Mogadishu isn't a setting for a film starring Josh Hartnett, its a real place where some of the bloodiest American fighting in Somalia occured to date. The 75th Ranger Regiment, Bravo Company, 3rd Batallion; DevGRU USNSeals, 160th SOAR US ARMY; 1st Special Forces OD-Delta US ARMY; and the 24 Special Tactics Squadron USAF. This mission was an overall disaster with even though it was noted as a mission accomplished, for finding Aiddid's Financier. Most notably, two Delta Operators were awarded the Medal of Honor Posthumously, Randy Shughart, and Gary Gordon, for their heroic roles played in the attempted rescue of the still alive to date, Super Six 4 pilot, Mike Durant. Their efforts were in vain. Mike Durant was captured for 11 days, he was released thereafter, and is now a best selling author. There is no soldier alive that doesn't know that story of heroism, and it isn't from blackhawk down...

Thanks for watching!

Good video, as I commented on YouTube lmao. We were on our way North, following the road when suddenly I see a humvee, so we're like let's check it out and as soon as we got off the road the fight began xD. Spectre here btw.

The Fallujah map is a clear interpretation of Al Fallujah, Iraq, It sits right on the Euphrates, the bridgework for Ar Ramadi bridge is the same. Dont take any advice from the forum team, anyone with 900 posts about a video game, cant possible have time to learn anything about the real world.

It would be a HUUUGE surprise if the map wasnt modeled after Al Fallujah.

Yeah I thought Delta had made a mistake but I didn't want to come off as a total dick by linking http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallujah right off the bat. I think he just got his facts mixed up. However there is a map of Mog here http://www.armaholic...ge.php?id=12917 It's not huge but with the rate of maps having DayZ ported to them at the moment I would be surprised if it doesn't become a DayZ map soon.
