Dynamic Events, Play Dead, Radio, Reworked Gear and lots of other..

Recommended Posts

[justify]First of all I'm very sorry for breaking the rule of one suggestion per thread, but rather then making 20+ threads we (few DayZ playing communities) decided to put together all of our ideas to make it easier to observe.[/justify]

[Dynamic Events]

[Dynamic Events]

  • A military convoy that spawns in random area on the map, and makes it way through Chernarus in various different routes. The convoy should probably include few NPC Soldiers that are not that easy to kill, plus one or two light armored military vehicles. The purpose of this is probably the same as Crashed Huey Sites, but those ones besides carrying some extremely good loot would also be harder to find and eliminate. This convoy is hostile to everyone including zombies. After it reaches the key destination it de-spawns.
Everyone is tired of people camping Airfields, Stary Sobor and other places with military loot, just hopping from server to server in barracks or military tents, joining servers that are in "creating" or "briefing" status just to grab some best fresh spawned loot and leave. There should be more ways to get most rare items that you can't get by server hopping, but by exploring areas on a certain server.
  • A horde of zombies (30-40) spawning in the random location of the map and moving through fields, forests, towns and whatever else (Just like in "The Walking Dead" movie and comics). Players should NOT feel safe anywhere. Even looting a small town, wondering in wilderness, or running through the field they might encounter that zombie horde.
Just imagine yourself sitting in the town, looting a small building, deciding whether you should pick few more cans of beans or few more magazines for your gun. And then when you're about to go you look outside through the window and see a horde of zombies slowly moving through the town, and you instantly go prone, hold your breath and hope for them not to spot you.
  • A "burning zombie" (or basically any other much stronger zombie) should have a small chance to spawn together with the regular crowd of zombies. A strong zombie that would have a 50% chance to cause a leg fracture on hit and dealing much more damage, if you don't kill him fast enough after he spots you - he makes a loud roar that attracts other zombies around, making it even harder to survive. Also to kill him you'd need about 10-20 AKM shots in his chest or 3-5 AKM shots in his head. He should also have an own model and set of sounds he makes to help recognize him from distance. I bet most of us would be glad to avoid fighting such bastard.
This mod is losing it's spirit of a zombie survival game since none is afraid of zombies anymore and only focused on looting (sometimes cheating and duplicating) guns and going on a killing spree on newbs in starting locations. People should FEAR zombies and if they attract their attention - this should instantly make them forget about any loot or PvP making them struggle for their own life.
  • "Black Hawk Down" This idea is related to "radio equipment" Lets say from time to time there will be a plane or helicopter having engine problems and crashing.(currently there are just random spawning Huey Crash Sites) Radio signal "We're going down, requesting evacuation at ****** coordinates" will be transmitted and players with that "radio equipment" would be able to actually hear that signal and get to that place. The first one who gets there -gets the stuff or can find a good position for taking out anyone who'd come to that place to loot it.
This game has no goals, so as soon as you find and use for a while every gun in this game, every piece of equipment and drive just about every transport you get bored of this game, start killing people just for fun, killing urself and starting over again.. and so on. This game NEEDS dynamic events, small optional missions and etc.

[New/Reworked Areas]

[New/Reworked Areas]

  • A military base guarded by NPC Soldiers. This place should have some good gear, maybe vehicles or vehicle parts, fuel pump and etc. But should also be extremely hard to get in and out. Patrols, guards on towers should be very hard to eliminate and deadly shooters. Shooting everything on sight: zombies, survivors and bandits.
Would be nice to add small goals to this game and motivate people to team up, not just to kill other people, but to get some valuable stuff. Getting stuff from such areas for low organized, low skilled groups or "lone wolfs" should be almost impossible. Want goodies - go get them or die in an attempt.
  • Better loot - more and stronger zombie spawns. If you're looking through small villages or towns, maybe barns in the fields and etc - you will hardly find any good stuff, and you should not have strong zombies around such places, but areas with some valuable loot should have much more and harder zombies spawning.
This should be a true challenge to lurk in and out without attracting attention and staying alive, and even if player meet another player inside of that area face to face, that should be a hard choice for them - to open fire attracting zombie attention and kill that guy, get his gear and then have a serious fight to get out of there alive, or rather players will have a nonverbal agreement to ignore each other and keep looking for stuff.
  • Energy generators located on the airfields, some towns, light houses and piers/docks. Basically what they do - they provide electricity lighting up lanterns in the town or on the airfield. Making campers with NVG more even with other people in that area. Refueling with filled jerry cans. Shooting the generator will obviously disable it shutting down the light, but can be repaired using toolbox and scarp metal.
That's not that useful, but I consider that being interesting idea, some players will definitely be glad to see such invention. Also in beta patch raising brightness, gamma and HDR does not provide you any better vision in the night, making flashlights useful, guns with flashlight even more useful and NVG brilliant.
  • Survivor/Bandit Camps (possibly guarded by NPCs that are friendly only to Survivor/Bandits based on the type of that camp) Anyone who've ever played S.T.A.L.K.E.R games knows how cool it is to take a small break in a camp, sit down at the camp fire and relax listen to stories, rumors and other stuff. So what we suggest (though not everyone of us likes this idea, since it gives a limited safety to players) is making a specific area surrounded by walls or trucks (lets say Survivor camp) guarded by low-qualified NPC (inaccurate with low gear), that will shoot zombies and bandits. Disabling ability to loot backpacks of other players inside the camp. If you open fire inside that camp - you will obviously be shot by NPC's and even if they won't be able to deal with you - other players will most likely gun you down. Within that area - you chat will work, so there you can speak freely to other players. From time to time random amount of zombies will be spawning around that camp, going out of the forest and attacking camp, NPCs and any survivors inside of that area. Obviously NPCs alone won't be able to protect that camp and die, so without survivors taking part in defending it - this place will be abandoned and deserted for a while and has no protection. To get it back players would have to clear that area of all remaining zombies. This place can obviously be raided by Bandits, but they are risking to be spotted as well, both by players and NPC's and since the amount of Survivors in covered location will most likely be higher then the amount of Bandits they will have a higher chance to win that fight and get the gear from bandits. As a very strange idea would be a nice try to put "traders" in such camps - like you bring gun, food, ammunition there and give it all out to NPC trader, this will add some money, that will be shown in debug monitor. When you get enough - you can buy stuff from that trader that other players brought (or list of items he sells will be randomly generated) Killing enemy player and looting his corpse will also transfer all money he had to your character. Killing trader though won't let you get any of the stuff he was selling.
This is just an idea/suggestion, that some of the players would like to see. The idea remains, but I hope someone will suggest a better way to embody this, since in the current state it's a very raw idea =/

[Global Chat]

[Global Chat]

  • Lootable radio - piece of equipment that should be added to this game. If system like humanity survivor/bandit will ever come back that's how this radio should work. There would be at least 3 channels on this radio - Global channel, where people within 5-10 KM area would be able to communicate with anyone who've got radio as well. Bandit channel, where bandits would be able to communicate with each other if they'd like to. This channel would be accessible only by bandits. (5-10 KM distance) Survivor channel obviously a channel for survivors to communicate without bandits (unless you obviously got a survivor in your bandit group) being able to detect their chat. Accessible only by survivors on the same distance as previous. Also an item such as "radio-signal-finder" might be added to game, giving it's owner ability to detect any out-coming radio signals within a small area around him. So if somebody likes to talk much and pays too less attention to things around, every time he posts a message in chat - people with "radio-signal-finder" can detect him on the map for a brief period of time. Also radio should have an option to be turned on and off. Basically turning off and on chat, not to see all those annoying messages constantly :dodgy:
Global chat was obviously a crap system for trolls and spammers. It definitely needed to be reworked, but disabling it limited communication between players so much - that noobies are no longer able to ask questions and rather spend their time on forums (imho: that might seem right for some of us, but I consider that being wrong, especially for such a user-unfriendly game and crap in-game interface) and players that could communicate with each other before and team up, deal with each other with words, not guns, turned absolutely hostile to each other and either disconnect or shoot on sight if spot you or being spotted themself, even if they'd like to team up - nobody is risking that anymore. There's no way to show someone else your intentions. If you're not going to open fire, but rather would like to ask to team up you have very limited ways of doing that, most of them can barely be understood as friendly. Possibly some ways to show stranger you mean no harm to him (whether you mean it or want to cheat him, that's up to stranger to decide to trust or not) should be added to action menu.

[survivor/Bandit/Groups]

[survivor/Bandit/Groups]

  • Blood Stains on the face, hands and boots of the charracter would be a sign that he's a murder. The amount of stains, their brightness and gamma should increase the more people he've killed. Stains should slowly vannish with time if he stops killing other players. So basically if that guy kill everyone he seen - his face and hands will be red, his boots will have some bright blood stains and completely red soles.
If player didn't kill anyone for a while or killed just a few guys you won't be able to tell if he's good or bad from a long distance. But the closer you get - the better you can see his face, hands, boots and the easier it gets to identify his attitude to other players.
  • Tents should be reworked. They are obviously too easy to spot and loot, so far I've seen not a single camp that survived logner then 1.5 of a week on a server that constantly got at least 30 players. How about replacing tents or adding some ground embankments/dikes. Little earth hills made by players where you can put your gear, harder to spot, but still possible. Or maybe giving an ability to dig tent into the ground using showel for half of it's heigh, making them still usable as storage. Maybe adding few variations of camo, so after setting up the tent, together with "Pack tent" "Save old camping tent" and other add button - "Change tent camo" so it will suit fields, deserts and other places more. If all of this does not fit.. at least let us set up tents in the woods, closer to the trees and bushes, under fur-trees, but not in towns.
Many groups would honestly like to set up camps, they don't want them to be completely safe, but with current tents - camps are easy to spot and loot. Nobody want them to be absolutely protected or safe, but means to make it harder to detect a camp should be added to the game.
  • Friendly signs that would help people show others that they mean no harm and have no intention to shoot them. (or if they want to make other people think so) Like current "Salute" or "Sit down" actions, but those are lame, uncertain and while annimation is making you defenseless. What we suggest is an action, where you lower your gun, wave your hand and make a sound like "HEY!" or "I'm Friendly" or "Cease Fire" (or even making those actions attached to separate buttons/action menu, if u only need animation or sound), but the point is that this animation can be cancelled anytime allowing you to run, hide or shoot and do not put yourself in situation where you can't move for a while. Or if you see another player, he didn't detect you yet, but you assume soon enough he probably will and you already want to warn him - you mean no harm to him so you can attract his attention and show him you're friendly.
Either that will prevent him from shooting you instantly later when he sees you, or he will try to get you killed, but in this situation you have advantage and you're ready to get in cover in case he will decide to ignore your greeting and open fire.
  • Study Body does not work on the servers with no name tags. That's a little bit dissapointing. I'd like to know the name of the guy I shoot by using "study body" action button. Also that would help identify cheaters on hardcore servers. Also if claymores will be added to this game, would be nice to loot corpse and set up a claymore in his body after. That's so mean and evil that I bet you guys would like that :D
If I record cheater, hacker, bug abuser on fraps doing something illegal, duplicaing items, cheating, hacking or find some hacked gear on his body - I can at least write down his name by pressing "study body" action button, average time he was playing and got killed and server name to report him later on forum.
  • Play dead an action that makes you drop on the ground and pretend you're dead. Maybe that action should take few seconds to do(possibly adding flies sound as well, or romoving it from game completely - else won't work. Murders score also shouldn't be updated instantly but only in 5 minutes or after you come and "study body") maybe not.. (if you're running through the field and start getting shot)
Let's say you're looting a tent in Stary Sobor and see 2-3 guys comming down the hill to loot tents as well. They didn't spot you yet, but you know winning a firefight against three will be hard, especially after you kill one of them, two others will possible detect you and make as many bullet holes in your butt as the can. This way you have many ways to trick them. If you want - you can keep laying, let them grab loot from you and get away if you have nothing special on you they will just leave your "body" alone. If you have something to protect - as soon as they will spread over the area, and only one will stay to loot your corpse - you can gun him down before he realises where he got shot from. And then you can risk and pretend you're dead once again, get ready for his mates to come and check the tent to find out who killed him or run the fuck out of there and hide in trees.
  • ID code that will let people identify others. That's just one of the ways this might work: a specific item with 10 numbers code. For example my group would use 5748395847 code for ourselves which would allow us to see name tags of each other if our code is the same. If code does not match - no name tags are shown, this way we can easily avoid friendly fire. (Name tags could possibly work only at close range) Also this item should have 3-5 lines for codes. So if we don't want to shoot [MisFits] we'd just input their code in 2nd line, and they do the same, so that the name tags would be shown to each other. If they no longer want to be detected - each of their members just change the personal/group code and we'll no longer able to identify them like this.
So basically 1st line - personal/group code 2nd-5th lines - codes of allied groups. Though in my opinion, there should not be more lines. So to make it clear 1st line - identifies us, and if someone has same code in his first line - he's our group mate. If somebody has same code in 2nd-5th line - he's our ally. If two groups do not want to open fire at each other if they ever meet - they add other group's code to 2nd-5th line, or to the first line if they want to join that group. Name tags should then look like this Ben [Ally: MisFits] or Din [Mate: WTF] or be in different colors. All codes would also save together with charracter.
  • Auto-Run action button. Basically Arma II didn't need that function, but DayZ does need it. What I suggest - is an action menu button like for Huey with "Auto hover: on/off" Or auto-run should be attached to a specific key on the keyboard, what will make it a little bit easier for player I guess.
Bet each of us at least once got tired of constant running, and used coins, magnets, some heavy small things or other ways to stuck "W" button, but meanwhile they were unable to alt-tab. Recently my friend was teleported 28 KM away from the playable map area. He had to run all this distance and it took him more then 2 hours to just reach the map area, where he relogged and was teleported 24 KM away this time. And even crossing the usuall fields and forests sometimes requires long time holding "W" key. I've made a small Auto-Hotkey script to help me auto-run, but that can be considered as 3rd party program and be banned. So we really DO need this button.

[Zombie changes]

[Zombie changes]

  • Resurecting corpses zombie can be incapaciated with shots in his chest, legs, hands. But yet you can kill them simply with shots in the chest, what contradicts every zombie movie (worry) If shots in the chest would've just dropped them on the ground for let's say a minute (or you'd have to shoot at least 5 AKM rounds in each zombie's chest to finish them), but only bullet in the head could actually finish them off - that would be rly hardcore realistic style. Or if you don't want to make noise - you'd have to come to each zombie corpse and press "Finish/Kill/Put to rest" instead, to make sure this zombie will not get up to get you when you'll hardly be expecting.
This will make zombies even harder to deal with, and make zombie hordes even more dangerous. You won't be able to start looting safely, unless you've finished every zombie that spoted you.
  • Resurecting players if player dies - his corpse remain for about 2 hours before despawning. How about making player's corpse turn into zombie 2 hours after he died, if his body wasn't burnt or hiden (yeh burning corpses instead of hiding would make more sense, but harder mechanics) So his loot disappears, and he stands up as a strong "burning zombie" that was suggested above. Lets say.. make such zombie-player-corpses slowly head towards Airfields, Chernogorsk, Elektro, Stary Sobor.
You're about to loot tents in Stary Sobor, you see noone there, and then such zombie that came from nowhere appears slowly walks behind you and if not spoted you continues his way toward tents. That would be a bit scary especially in the night, but interesting to see. Like "fresh zombies" still have pieces of their memory functioning and they head towards location that they've been through or were about to go to.

[Weapon/Equipment changes]

[Weapon/Equipment changes]

  • Claymores would also be a nice innovation here. They should not be that popular, since a well placed claymore is a deadly trap. A small mine-field in every lootable building is not what this game should look like. Making it possible to disarm and take claymores with yourself would also encourage players to look carefully before rushing for goodies, or just shooting them from distance. Lets say if you approach claymore slowly on a distance of 3 meters you already have option to disarm it, if you get on distance of less then 0.5 meters - you're dead.
Obviously nice thing to be added to this game, will make survival even harder and probably funny to put a claymore in barracks, run away and then notice you have 1 more murder or bandit kill. If you had just one claymore - you return to that area, grab his gear and get away. As long as they will remain as a rare spawning item - this should stay balanced.
  • Crossbow is probably the most useless weapon for now. It should be reworked.. We suggested few ways of doing so. Changing the crossbow model, maybe adding a better irnonsight or even scope. Making it more accurate. Making it more effective against zombies, but not players. Putting a stack of 3-5 bolts in one slot. Adding mechanics: chop the tree with a hatchet to get a woodpile, then with a hinting knife make arrows out of a woodpile. And suddenly crossbow will become much more popular and interesting. Making it easier to pick up bolts from zombie corpses and objects.
Crossbow was #1 weapon I thought I'd be carrying around when I've just heared about this mod, after I've played this game for an hour crossbow became the last weapon I'd be using. It's damn inaccurate, doesn't deal any good damage, ironsights are just horrible, it's hard to pick up bolts both from objects and zombies. This weapon needs to be changed or removed.
  • Food should not be restoring blood instantly, but rather restore it over time (opposite to bleeding effect) Nourishment icon should be flashing green after you ate smth while your blood is being restored. Eating more food during the same time will just refresh the effect, but not improve or increase it's duration.
Strange to see survivor consuming 25 cans of beans in a row... and have his blood restored instantly :-/

[justify]Once again, we're deeply sorry for going against that rule "one idea per thread" but we just don't want to spam forum with lots of threads and it's hard to track peoples' opinion, suggestions. We hope our message will not be deleted due to that reason and we hope some of you will like ideas we offered. This post will be updated daily with any new ideas that our communities might think off.[/justify]

Yea all good. More variety would be great.

Not sure I like NPCs guarding survivor bases. A base should be both very hard to create and very vulnerable too.

Keep these infrequent.

Yeh, even weak NPCs guarding is already a little bit not in the game style, but would be nice to have an area for trading. Somthing like a bootcamp for noobs to learn.

I love almost everything I've read here.

There are 2 things however that I don't like, NPCs and the "burning zombie".

Part of the brilliance of DayZ is that the game is a completely player driven experience. Anything and everything you can imagine is possible (allowing the engine is capable). Having towns be guarded by NPCs interferes with that. If players want the benefits that come with permanent structures, it is my personal belief that they put in the work guarding it themselves. Would that make it a lot harder? Yes, but why should it be easy. If players really want their forts to be safe, they should need to bring in new players and as a result begin to have to trust new players. Leaving it in the player's hands would force people to either use teamwork or have lower ambitions.

As far as stronger Zombies, I think they are necessary, but taking 20 AK rounds or 3 to head is excessive. There could be an overhaul on how zombies work that will make them more challanging across the board. If zombies had better hearing, ie being able to hear a character who is out of breath, and combined that with being stronger, taking slightly more shots to the chest to kill, we might not need unique uber zeds.

I approve all ideas. The NPC idea is good, but I don't think people will support it.

The game in the way it's getting, will be another 12years old play style , point and shoot everything. Every try to avoid an irrational, unreal and not-gonna-happen in real world, deathmatch is good.

The game is awesome, but after a time only seeing plp that kill on sight, because they're dumb or afraid that the other are dumb, you fell this game is not a simulator and just another fps.

With Military NPCs should only be in Trigger Dynamic events that happen ever so often and very powerful/dangerous. They should not be floating around.

Yeh, that's the point that military NPCs won't be seen that often, and even when you detect them it would be a god damn hard task to deal with the whole convoy of experienced soldiers (crazy AI) alone. However they'd be moving slow, so you can track them and wait for mates to come and assist you.

Can you think of any other Dynamic Events guys?

A beached nuclear icebreaker, with dat exotic foreign loot (Sort of how helicopter crash sites have British equipment). Such sites would be on the coast and would be EXTREMELY dangerous.

I don't think it's Rocket and Co.'s mod.. We don't have to be happy with things that we don't feel happy about. Yeh they develop it, they work on it, they have all right for it and they are in charge, but people decide whether to play and support it or not. This mod had a great start, but at current state of things turns into another lame copy of L4D or BF3 with few zombies around. People quit this game already, it's ways too hard at start and ways too easy in the end, has no challenge, no goal and keeps no interest in player after 2-3 weeks of playing. After 3 weeks I've seen and drive all sorts of transport, carried all possible gear and explored every single area on the playable map and I feel I'm not alone like that.

IMHO: Dynamic events, goals, missions, tasks, objectives, achievments, less PvP deathmatch, more Co-op survival, more FEAR from encountering zombies, less FEAR from encountering players that's what this mod should be. Of course Rocket can go any other way he wants, noone will stop him - his project, his decission, his right for that, everyone appreciates him putting so much effort in it already. But if he will lead the way he wants not listening to what community asks for - then much less support from community, much less players, much less interest in this project and it dies.

What I really liked in this mod - is that gamer (and no only them) communities were asking leading developers in game industry for such game for MANY YEARS, but they were either given lame shitty gameplay with good graphic or single-player simulators or even ignored. And now Rocket creates a brilliant mod, exactly what people wanted to see.. and it turns into a fucking PvP deathmatch. People ignored all the bugs, glitches, low optimisation of Arma and forgave it's poor engine, because this mod was so amazing.. and there's no reason to start ignoring community and turning this mod the way only developer wants. I don't say devs. are doing bad, but recentely they took a wrong turn.. and if they won't get back on the right route - they gonna lose the spirit of this mod that charmed everyone and get lost in the "wilderness" and "die there from thurst and hunger"

In other words this mod belongs to chain that consits of Rocket, Dev. Co. and Players that play and support this mod. Lack of one link and this mod will see the black "You are dead" screen shortly.

I like a lot of these ideas. I don't think group specific cities would work...maybe an independent group who doesn't care for your bull.

Also this game should have some kind of group system.. For example [WTF] on US23,24,25 have a deal with [MisFits] of not attacking each other. But name tags are off on those servers.

There's no possible way to identify people, and even [WTF] sometimes have problems with identifying own mates. Any ideas how people could identify allies, but have no chance to identify enemies, unless they kill and use "study body" ?

I'll describe my suggestion above in the first post.

Dynamic events with NPC military types COULD be really awesome. IF it is done right. Don't rush it. I do dislike the military and survivor compound ideas. The concept is good, but I dont really see a way of doing it and staying true to what (in my own opinion) this mod seems to be aiming for. Having said that. A compound with a few generators and mobile lights running off them with maybe 1 vehicle and a few (maybe 5-6 MAX) soldiers patrolling/defending it. Wouldnt be a bad idea. Again IF done right. There are a lot of ways I feel this type of thing could go horribly wrong. Very few ways it could be done right. But I do believe bringing a dynamic military element into the mod could be a great idea. Just make it rare.

Convoy of no more than 15 troops spread over 2-3 vehicles. Enough to force most of a sever to work together if they don't want to take casualties. No armoured gun cars or tanks. Just basic light skin vehicles. Maybe a 5.56 mounted, we cant be making it too easy, it is still DayZ after all.

I am completely against 'super' zombies. Increase the toughness of the current undead and fix that damned erratic zigzag sprinting (they are undead, they done fear my bullets enough to dodge them at 100kph). Increase the number that spawn per building by 1-2. I don't mind the speed of them. Just the crazy behaviour seems, well, wrong. I would still keep 1 shot to the head though.

Overall there are some great ideas there and I hope the dev team looks at and takes some of them to test and possibly implement in future versions of the mod.

EDIT: What I meant to write about the compounds was; Make it kind of like a forward position. Dont make it a static place. Have it move around either random spawns (no more than 1 or 2 on the map at any one time type thing). OR, have 1 or 2 groups on the map that actually pack up and move off the map. Only to come back just before sundown to do a sweep of a specific area and set up again for the next night.

A military convoy

A military base

Not agreed, because of:

1) IMO all non-zombie activities in DayZ should be played by the real players, not by NPC.

2) I dont like an idea to play as commando-survivor who capable to destroy well-geared military convoy.

3) The main idea to bring the tough bosses in gameplay is a challenge to prove your power. But this idea conflicts with main idea of survival challenges: "How long an ordinary survivor could live at the edge of life and death?".

A horde of zombies (30-40)

Well, these are don't look like "boss" characters, but should be placed in game only for balance. For example, a horde could be spawned near dense players disposition.

A "burning zombie"

Not agreed, because of:

1) No boss challenges in survivor game!

2) Let's don't сombine zombies with uber mutants! Zombies are just living dead people!

"Black Hawk Down"

Great idea! It should bring in game some diversity and it should push players for exploration.

Energy generators

This feature has a weak sense to be useful. Flares, flashlights and other staff are more easier to use. But idea with generators should work great in case to open electronic locks to access rare loot. For example, it could be sealed electronic doors in military bases.

Survivor/Bandit Camps

You contradict yourself. Players should not be safe anywhere. Only solitude and survival. And humanity as your worst enemy.

Lootable radio

Great idea! And communication device should be found as loot item.

Auto-Run

Autorun button is a noncense in DayZ. A fact that player just can tap a W and then drink a cup of coffee is a sign. A sign to make a map more balanced. I think the forests, fields and other wilderness should be even more dangerous when the cities. Wilderness should have ravines to break your legs after falling into them. Wilderness should have the marshes to make you sink in them. Wilderness should have wild and angry animals such as wolves and bears. If these features will be implemented then you may request an autorun button.

Resurecting corpses

I think this feature would be more playable when it would be simple realized. Shots in chest, legs, arms just stuns for a couple of seconds and kills zombie at 4-5 shot. Headshot kills instantly.

PS: My apologies for bad english.

A military convoy

A military base

Thanks for comments, but you havn't noticed all of my commentaries, that players should not be safe anywhere, but they might have some limited safety. Yes most of the events should be happening with people, but dude.. there are only 50 players on the map the most (some servers allow more, but they pay with extreme laggs for that) expecting players to do those convoys or start a dynamic event.. - that won't work.. but some NPCs can do it easily and that is the point. After all when you spot a convoy, be sure you're not the only smart guy who've noticed it, and you will probably have a hard fight between Zombies, Survivors, Military NPCs, Bandits, Organised groups/teams - and you never know who's gonna win it. And that's what I call a really cool dynamic event.

Energy generators

Also the idea with generator as I said is mostly for fun and to add varaity of different actions. Using a flashlight detects only you, flares detect their owner also, NVG is NVG and lighting up the whole area detects everyone.

A "burning zombie"

Nobody says there should be mutants added, I just said that you can't make all zombies equal. Military zombies should be harder to kill and deal more damage.. after all they had some strong physical trainings when they were alive and got some gear on them to protect from bullets, why would they die as easy as a common farmer?

A horde of zombies (30-40)

The point of it, is that it does not and SHOULD NOT spawn next to the player or despawn when there are no players around. This horde should be random, unpredictable, deadly and exteremely dangerous.

Auto-Run

For sure you've never been teleported 28km away.. 2hours of non-stop run in a deserted area.. also if you're running to a camp that is far away in the wilderness few times a day, you'd hardly like to spend 25 minutes holding "W" one way and another way with nothing happening around you.

anyway, that's just my opinion of how things should work.

Thanks for interesting conversation. We just have different opinions at how the game should be. Most of players wish to see after days of playing game well-geared character, plenty of taken achievements, and a friendly world with events, traders and safe zones. I wish to see while playing game а message: "Congratulations! You survived 30 seconds longer this time! Would you like to have another try?"

The game should get harder in my opinion as well, but I'd like to set up a base somewhere, that is at least a little bit safe. All of our current bases were ruined, destroiyed, looted within a week, even those we've placed 5 KM away from the playable map area. Zombies are no longer a threat, people going PvP deathmatch mode only, no events, nothing new, nothing keeps you interested after 2-3 weeks of playing. This game needs some larger mechanics for setting up bases, harder survival, stronger zombie threat and more events and missions.
