armerc (DayZ) 0 Posted October 2, 2012 I just picked this up at the barracks today and was checking the dayzdb.com weapon specs.A few comments list that the weapon will displace your backpack when equiping the gun. I have a coyote backpack and i would rather not lose it.Can anyone confirm this either one way or another? Thanks
sostronk 334 Posted October 2, 2012 I haven't experienced the problem. I had been carrying around an M14 and a MKmod0 for a while and switching them for when I wanted suppressive fire.
Zombie Jesus 723 Posted October 2, 2012 It will not displace your backpack so no worries there.
GeordieMarv 293 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) As mentioned it wont displace your backpack.ALWAYS ALWAYS move the gun from your backpack to your hands, then you won't "lose" it.If you don't know what i mean...If i have say a Lee Enfield in my hands, and a Mk 48 in my backpack, and i want to equip the Mk 48...ALWAYS move the gun from your backpack to your hands. If you try to move the gun from your hands into your backpack...it will disappear. Not meaning to patronise you. Just explaining in case you do not know. Edited October 2, 2012 by GeordieMarv
Skat3rat 1633 Posted October 2, 2012 Actually at one time I had two MK48s. The camo version required me dropping my backpack while the regular one did not.
GeordieMarv 293 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) Actually at one time I had two MK48s. The camo version required me dropping my backpack while the regular one did not.It is only the camo one that is the Mk 48 from what i believe. The non camo version is either a M249 saw or an M240.As is my understanding of it anyways.http://dayzdb.com/database/m240http://dayzdb.com/database/m249-sawhttp://dayzdb.com/database/mk-48-mod-0 Edited October 2, 2012 by GeordieMarv
armerc (DayZ) 0 Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks all for the follow up; i'll give it a test out later when i log in.As mentioned it wont displace your backpack.ALWAYS ALWAYS move the gun from your backpack to your hands, then you won't "lose" it.I appreciate the heads up, I have known this for some time, but it is always good to give others the know-how.if you keep Jamming stuff in your backpack, something will wind up disappearing.... DimonRD 5 Posted October 2, 2012 Every time i found mk48 at helo crash it work great with backpack - backpack stays and you can put mk48 inside backpack. One time i found two dead ghillie snipers at Elektro hill. One had mk48 camo. When i tried take it, i dropped backpack. I think this mk48 camo was scripted in from original ARMA model and takes two slots - primary weapon and backpack slot. DayZ version mk48 takes only one primary slot. So if your mk48 make you drop your backpack its hacked version.

jukaga 271 Posted October 2, 2012 I found a hacked camo version once and it displaced my backpack. I was confused then gave it a closer look and saw it was a hacked version so I turfed it. A tear ran down my cheek, as it is my favorite all-round gun in DayZ.
mr_seacucumber 81 Posted October 2, 2012 ONLY hacked weapons will take up a backpack slot, UNLESS it is the rocket launcher but if your using that you need to get out more
