I can run arma 2 on max settings but not DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first post. I've been playing DayZ for a few months now and have also been playing arma 2. I can run arma 2 on max settings but on dayz I struggle to keep a steady frame rate on "high" settings.

My computer specs are:

Intel q6600 clocked @2.4ghz

Sapphire hd6870 1gb

Kingston 8gb ram

Asrock mobo etc...

Since both games are running on the same engine, why does dayz not run as well as Arma 2 does?

It's most likely the server. I have a shitty computer, and most servers I join are okay. Then I go on some other servers, then my computer literally takes a shit on itself.

DayZ has a lot of shit going on, naturally it's going to make your computer struggle a bit to keep up.

If you play a small co-op mission with friends you'll notice it's much, much smoother, simply because there aren't 500 units on the map, loot being randomly generated and a plethora of other things.

it's the server. Some are all but forgotten and hardly restarted. So you have dayz (tehehe) of dead bodies and items.
