How would i go about changing a server to allow side channel?

Now I'm not saying I plan on doing this, or that I even own a server, I'm just wondering how I go about doing it. Due to curiosity I have been searching and cant find a good guide on where I actually find the files needed. And before you start, I am well aware that it can get servers blacklisted, but I don't own a server :)

What are you doing? You say you don't own a server, and don't plan on doing it so why do you need to know?

But yes, for those who still dont get it, I do actually want to know how to do this so I can potentially do it for a friends server. All of the explanations i've seen are very vague and dont tell you how to locate the files very well
