[Resolved] CPU Going to 100% Every Time I Run DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Basically, this is the problem: I run DayZ on a computer that can run the program on normal quality preference and run it smoothly with no break in framrate. I ran it once a few days ago and it was fine, but now installing DayZ with DayZ Commander, every time I run it, even being on the lowest preformance quality I can, the CPU ramps up to 100 or near and the framerate is less than 1 FPS. It does this with the regular ArmA game as well, without DayZ running. I have an internet connection that is LAN and has the capability to transfer 1GB/s, so internet connection is not an issue whatsoever. The only program running in the background is TeamSpeak, and I have no plugins for it. I have ArmA on Steam, but I don't let DayZ Commander run it through there.

Does anyone know any information that can help me? I want a good answer, not a quickfix, and please provide some sort of source that you can show this fix is legit. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Note: If you need more info or specifics, just ask.

What's your CPU? You may need to upgrade now. DayZ's zombies AI run off the CPU, the more zombies the more lag for an older inferior CPU.

Sounds like the problem a couple of my clan are having, they have gone from being able to run the game on high end to getting as low as a couple of frames a second on even the lowest settings. At this point I wish I could offer some kind of answer but we haven't been able to figure out what's doing it. Problem has only started in the last two weeks. I did have a frame rate issue once as well, filled up my hard drive with fraps vids (derp) but a clean out and defrag sorted it out.

That should not be an issue for me, considering I have no videos, 3 pictures, and only a few programs on my computer. I most likely have the least I have ever had installed on this machine, and now I have more RAM and a better OS. My RAM is 8gb. I think it's measured in gb. I can't find where it says it in the control panel, because I haven't been using Win 7 for that long.

Resolved. The server was causing it, and the game runs fine on the same server now.
