Um can someone answer question bout beta patch/new dayz updater?

So i downloaded the updater and hit quick play and i guess it chose a beta server....ya well it updated me apparently....or did it?

Did it just update my game with the beta patch? or what? if so that was simple and fast.

It did not. You have to manually download the beta from ARMA website, and then set your shortcuts appropriately.

oh cause it says playing beta something now above the @dayz thing on top right at main menu.

P.S can beta patched people play on the non beta patched servers? (backwards compatible)?

I know you can play on older versions of the beta if you have a newer version, but I'm not sure about non-beta servers. You probably have to launch the non-beta client if you want to do that.

There should be a version number in the bottom right hand corner of the main menu, if its says 93701 or whatever then you are running the beta client.
