[SOLVED] Friends on LAN, getting kicked :(

Recommended Posts

SOLVED: Look below

Hey!

Me and my buddy bought DayZ today, but with every server we try to join, the last player joining gets kicked under loading screen. We've read around with google and it seems some people can play on LAN.

We have each our steam accounts.

I initially copied his installation files SteamApps/common/Arma...

to avoid having to download the entire thing, which worked fine. But maybe that could cause some issues.

I also logged in with his steam account to try and test the game on my computer before i bought it myself.

If anyone have any ideas or know what could be going wrong, we'd apriciate it!

I've seen several people playing from the same ip i think their name changes to something like Mike, Mike (1).

Did you bought 2 copies of arma? Each copy of arma has its own KEY File so you probably copied your friends key to your folder, and thats the reason why only one of you can log in into a server.

You'll need to redownload arma CO from your steam client to get your key.

Sounds like you are both using the same cd key which is a no no.

We do have completely different keys on steam but yeah, i think the file copying thing might be a problem

Hrmm, i think it might be my friends cd-key that got registered in windows regestry. Does anyone know how i safely change that?

SOLVED!

I deleted the key with the cdkey in regestry (Local machine -> software -> wow6432Node -> bohemia interactive Studio -> Arma 2 & Arma 2 OA -> Key)

Then ran Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA from steam which reregistered my own keys!
