Unable to play - unsure why.

So I just recently tried playing DayZ and ran into a problem instantly.

Whenever I try to join a server I get the loading screen, I click ok, it says ''Wait for Host'' then instantly I get another loading screen. After that I get put back to the Arma II game menu, and nothing happens from there.

This is all a fresh install, so I've not tinkered around with anything to make it not work, then again, I haven't tinkered around with anything to make it work, if I needed to :/

I've installed this all at the same time as a friend, who's done EXACTLY the same thing as I have at each step and he's not had one problem at all.

Is there any kind person out there that could help me with this problem?
