SWC_Jesfa 0 Posted September 24, 2012 Alrighty. Other than downloading the mod to do this, which would require all server users to download and install the mod as well, how do I see about adding in vehicles that are on Rockets banlist?Mostly just looking to add in some fun RP type vehicles (forget tanks, fighter jets, and attack choppers... -_-), since the game currently has mostly generic things. Would love to add in a Chinook and Ambulance-esque stuff to our server, but have been foiled thus far.If anyone has an idea how to add in a spawn for them, or even just a way to manually inject them that I can do every few days as a faux-spawn, that'd be stupendous. Thanks! S_poon 69 Posted September 24, 2012 (edited) First what type of server do you have? Managed Control Panel type? Dedicated with full access to your own private hive database? <<< Thats the one you need I am pretty sure. Edited September 24, 2012 by S_poon
SWC_Jesfa 0 Posted September 25, 2012 Managed control panel, but the host has said he'd be willing to help out with the files control panel does not give access to.
venthos 605 Posted September 25, 2012 I hear that rMod essentially loads itself after dayz and unbans a lot (all?) of the vehicles. Note that both your server and your players will need the custom mods loaded along with DayZ.If it doesn't work as expected, or you want to actually customize things further, then you need the various Bohemia Interactive tools to essentially do some mod development and edit the PBOs. The newly changed PBOs will then need to be signed by you and given to your players and hosted on your server. It's a bit of a steep learning curve if you've never done any sort of mod development with Bohemia Interactive before, but once you're up and running it's not too bad.In either case, you'd need access to either add new mods entirely or overwrite DayZ's existing PBOs for your server (depending on the route you go). SWC_Jesfa 0 Posted September 25, 2012 Would both cases require that the players who join the server need to install new/more files?I've noticed that some of the newer maps appear to have vehicles on the ban list, perhaps I'm mistaken, but wouldn't that, if true, also ban those vehicles? OneCleanSh0t 1 Posted September 25, 2012 Well I have a new Bliss Hive server and it is possible to add the vehicles to the database and them "appear" but you have to push out the updated files in a manner similar to Takistan. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but I know it CAN be done.
