Custom Maps for DayZ

Recommended Posts

So if I were to build a custom map, like Lingor Island, and lets say: hooray it works blah blah fun times. Then the standalone comes out... Would the map made on Visitor 3 and the other tools provided by BIS work on the mod as well as on standalone in the future. I know the engine is different slightly so knowing this would save me the worry of making this project over such and such time and not being able to use it in the standalone too.

Also any help with making such map would be appreciated.

I was going to go with a mountainous region somewhere in North America. Definitely pine forest engulfed rolling mountains, just where would I base it on is the questions (actual location to base geography on since my imagination is quite limited)?

This is ambitious and would first just like to know if this is even going to be possible to work in the standalone. Don't hassle me too much if this never gets released in your lifetime.

Since the mod will exist next to the Standalone as a Community Project, any future island can surely be used in DayZ.

Now for the standalone, it is hard to give any definite statements. But modding in the sense of content creation, like in your case a new map, is a big wish of Dean.

"Community wise, that is a different story. I think some officially support community maps would be awesome, personally."

Good to know, thanks!
