Gore?

Recommended Posts

Well being a fan of the zombie genre, I've decided to take the plunge into Day Z. However one thing I notice is the lack of gore which makes the game not very pleasing visually as a core component of any zombie game is to see your enemies mashed into tiny pieces at the hands of one's weaponry. Having zombies simply drop dead seems not very true to the zombie genre and not great for one's sense of immersion. Left for dead 2 has it perfect with a realistic damage model for gore and body parts.

Do the developers have any intention on bringing gore into the Day Z franchise or is this a limitation of the engine?

I'm not sure the Arma 2 game engine is compatible with Gore. Splashing blood, guts everywhere and shit like that are not in the main game, so I guess it's not possible yet.
