Arma 2 editor not working.

So I wanted to use the editor in arma 2 to train myself a bit for pvp sniping in dayz, mostly very long range shots without the use of rangefinders. But whenever I try to place units in the editor the menu to place them doesn't come up when I hit f1,f2,f3 etc. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what the problem is?

Alright, you must double click after pressing F1 and such, double click where you want the unit. Everything else is a breeze.

I already know how to zero a sniper rifle and estimate distance using mildots but thanks anyways!
