Connecting issues

so heres the deal:

I found some days ago awesome private hive server but my friend cant connect there.

he gets stuck at loading everytime he tries to connect. He can join perfectly to any other server without any issues.

soo where might be the problem? server is US 5151 and we are from Finland.

he tried waiting over 30min+ on that loading screen and it just wont go..

and hes not banned or anything, all legit and we got same versions of DayZ and arma2 beta patch.

Two things come to mind that you could compare to try to narrow down what is different with his install than yours.

1. How do you launch the game? Are you both launching the same .exe? (i.e. Steam, Retail, .exe launcher from the Arma 2 OA folder etc).

2. Also, you can compare what you see in the top right corner of you main arma 2 screen when it loads. You will see some items listed there and they indicate what things are loading and in what order (can be selected / unselected and load order changed in the Expansions tab at the arma 2 menu). I had to make mine mirror somone elses last night in order to get Falluja map to load for me.

At least in the case of the new Fallujah hive, (temporarily) I had to disable a lot of the normal tick boxes and also change the load order to get Fallujah to run (but my buddy didnt have to change a thing) not sure why our versions were different in that respect. Also, I had to use the launch_AO_beta.exe shortcut that was in my steam folder otherwise I could not play on the private hive at all.
