LastAct 8 Posted September 23, 2012 I have been thinking, recently the official stand-alone would have been released in September said Dean Hall, But sadly enough i'm sure it wont be till much later. But what the main thing I been curious is the Anti-Cheat protection. When the stand-alone comes out. Are they still going to be using Battle-eye still? or a much better Anti-Cheat program? KennyNZ 121 Posted September 23, 2012 I think the more relevant point to note is that with it being standalone, they can make the game itself a shitload less susceptible to cheating/hacking in the first place. That alone will get rid of the majority of issues.Unfortunately ARMA2 is pretty made made for hacking/scripting/customisation, whatever you want to call it.
tsandrey 379 Posted September 23, 2012 BE would be the best option for standalone
razorman 15 Posted September 23, 2012 BE would be the best option for standaloneWhy when it doesn't work now in this version?
IIII_joshua 16 Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Why when it doesn't work now in this version?Because the entire ARMA 2 game is about spawning in enemies and giving them little scripts to do stuff. You even get near developer/map designer powers in the game just by clicking the custom mission button. That is built in and accessible every time you launch arma2.exeWant to spawn ARMA 2 stuff in dayz mod, running in ARMA 2 which is designed for this kind of custom map/scripting? it's so easy it's stupid.. how about in dayz standalone where all the arma 2 content is gone? where all the built in custom scripting is removed or obscured? No more. That alone will dramatically lower hacking/scripting. BE will be much more effective when the hacking problem is seriously limited. No question. It's like moving a fire engine from a forest fire to a house fire. Just so much less to deal with. piemanpm 13 Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) I don't know where you've heard September from. It was rumoured that 1.7.3 was going to be released in September ( Hey who knows. Still a little time left right? ) But never the stand alone, all Dean has said is " End of 2012 "As for the Anti-Cheat thing, ARMA 2 was kind of developed for scripting, modding and coding. So that's why " Hacking " is so ripe in public hives. I think they'd be going with BattlEye anyway, because ARMA and ARMA 2 both run off it, and with them having ARMA 2 coders, it would make sense. However it does say " Improved anti-cheat measures. " on the http://dayztx.com/da...dalone-updates/ website. So I'm not really sure what they are going to do. But I think they'll just lock it down more and find out more ways of detecting Script-kiddies and stuff like that. tsandrey 379 Posted September 23, 2012 Why when it doesn't work now in this version? How do you mean? It bans cheaters daily
razorman 15 Posted September 23, 2012 I mean it may well ban cheaters daily (if it detects them) but u can still cheat, however playing on private hive servers with active admins stops them in their tracks, you can keep your public hive games, indeed you can keep your stndalone version which will be plagued with the same problems as now.
