Bleed to Death?

I was checking on the wiki today to see if i was going to stop bleeding before i met my friends and i saw on the wiki that bleeding stopped at 2000 units of blood. That is not the case. so i am currently in the middle of nowhere and bleeding out.

I believe it is if you are 12000 blood, you bleed for a total of 10000, leaving you with 2000. Of course, if you are missing 2000 blood already you will bleed out.
