LooNiE 3 Posted September 22, 2012 Server Name: US 1992(Your) Timezone: ESTDate/Time: 9/20/12 - 6-7:00 PMServer Administrator('s): I only know one, and that is by his forum name, which is: NekonWhat happened: The two servers above are hosted by Overclock.net. I know it seems silly because these are extremely popular servers, but just hear me out. (Be prepared for a lot of reading)First off, Overclock.net has a system called CBL (Current Ban List), which lets other server hosters know who to ban for hacking. I was some how banned for hacking and put on the list here ( http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/detail?id=1355&q=LooNiE#makechanges ). I have a little brother. And we have 2 custom built gaming computers in my house. He uses one, and I use the other of course. Meaning that we have different CD-Keys as it should be, and different GUID's. Anyway's, my brother thinks it is so cool to hack DayZ, so he does. In my opinion it is stupid and pointless and that is why I play legitimately. Now, since we use the same router for the internet to our computers, we have the same IP Address. So one day my brother goes in the server, looking to hack, (In-game name was Gangnam Style at the time) and kills a lot of people. Needless to say, he get's banned from the server (These guys are really good about banning hackers). Now, me and my friends had an amazing camp on server US 2838, and that server is not highly populated at all. We were getting bored to say the least. When we were looking for a server to move camp to that was highly populated, and we came across US 1992. I join, and my friends join, we spend 4 hours moving camp, and then out of no where I get banned. And I didn't do anything.I went to the website that it said to go to for appealing the ban, and looked at the CBL, and that is when I saw that my brother had been on there and had done a ton of stupid stuff. I appealed the ban, and they said that they couldn't help that my brother had been on there and hacked, and that they couldn't unban me because I had the same IP Address and they didn't want to take the risk. (When we were moving camp, I was teleported by a hacker. He didn't kill me, but apparently it did show up in the logs, because that is how he saw the IP. The log said that I teleported once. Which I did not. I was teleported by the hacker. My in-game name was LooNiE at the time.)When they said that. It made me mad. Not going to lie. So I get into an argument with the server moderator for about an hour. Beacuse he really didn't have any proof that I did anything (and still doesn't).After I calm down, I decide to go buy a new CD-Key. JUST TO PLAY ON A SERVER WHERE EVERYTHING WE HAD EVER FOUND WAS ON (trying to make that clear). I buy a new CD-Key, change the CD-Key, and change my in-game name. I play on the server for the rest of the day (about 8:30-12:30 PM).Today I come home and play on the server for about an hour or so. While I am at my camp putting up looted items, I randomly get killed. Being that I didn't care about the ban anymore, I abort and go on the server's thread on the website (says to do so if there is a problem/hacker), and I report the person (Probably not the smartest thing I have ever done, Screenshot: http://gyazo.com/aafc5af78a5c52066eeb086101d81488 ). This is what I get in return: http://gyazo.com/39f59122268e11db3c87bea19153bcf3 . My reply (again this made me a little angry): http://gyazo.com/820f04fe9fdbfe1c28bfb900d6d57fb5 . Here is a link to the thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1290323/us-1992-3dp-on-ch-on-np-off-gmt-7/370 .In my opinion this is a clear abuse of authority. He has no proof that I "hacked" or anything of the sort on my new GUID. And yes, I did ask for server log proof. None was given so far.If you need anymore information, please send me a PM on this forum. (Admins only please)Thank you for reading this long rant, and hope that this can be resolved in a manner that will suit both me and the server administrators.Evidence/Proof: Included above. TruYadoo 36 Posted September 29, 2012 How could we know that you aren't "your brother" that does enjoy hacking servers? We've had other people threaten our server(s) of purchasing new GUIDs to return and further harass our players so what else should be done instead of banning the IP entirely? From our perspective, you could easily be yet another hacker that had their GUID legitimately banned but has bought a new one to return to our server and play nice, for the time being at least. Because "your brother" was legitimately banned due to hacking who shares the same IP address with you but uses a different GUID and we see the same IP on our server which immediately suggests that the hacker has returned so we ban the new GUID, it's admin abuse? It sounds a lot like the whole, "My identical twin brother/sister was the one that did this but I, I certainly wasn't the person that did this" excuse.Person A was mugged and tells the police that Person B was the mugger but when Person B is questioned, he claims that his identical twin brother/sister named Person C must of done it because it wasn't HIM. ...sure...
(OCN)xXxALLANxXx 17 Posted September 29, 2012 Hello,Let me start off I am the Game Server Manager over at Overclock.net and Vortech is my main admin for DayZ.First off I'll let Vortech go further into details about this but I wanna point out some of our conversation on Overclock.net we had.First off, how do we know you have a brother in the first place and wasn't cheating yourself?Original message sent by sjarboe01 on 9/20/12 at 7:14pmQuote:I didn't do any of that. My friends that play on those server's do hack. Most of them are banned from those servers now. I am not sure you know what all hackers can do. They can teleport other people, and heal them if need be. I am guessing when a hacker teleports another player, it is shown up in the logs as that player teleporting. Now, the IP thing. I have 2 gaming computers that are used at my house. One is my little brothers, and he thought that it would be cool to hack. I checked with him, and he said yes that his name was Gangnam Style before. So, I am not the same person. And I did not teleport, nor do I hack. So please, unban me from the server.Below is a chat between us three further into the converation:sjarboe01: Well, I hope you enjoy having a lot of hate on your servers. Because a lot, is about to come your way.nekon: Is that a threat? What do you mean hate is about to come our way?sjarboe01: Unless, I can prove that it was my brother. We, of course, have 2 different copies of Arma. Meaning that we have different GUID's. His, Gangnam Style, is different than mine. That proves that is wasn't me. IP doesn't matter in this situation.sjarboe01: And, what I mean is (I am not sure if you read the appeal), I have over 5000 people on Youtube that is subscribed to me for my DayZ gameplay. I let them know, they hate on the server. Because they know all of the stuff that we have, and how long it took to get it.nekon: The thing I don't know how you could possibly prove it was your brother.. I mean no disrepsect, but that isn't the first time I've heard "it was my brother" or "it was my roommate" before. It is equally hard to prove as I imagine it would be to disprove, the only thing either of us have here is the info BIS provides us. In this case we have a pair of guid, IP, and different usernames. In all honesty we've had malicious cheaters come back with new GUIDs to grief us.. Same static IP, sometimes foolishly the same name. We just cannot risk allowing either of you back on and I simply cannot imagine a way you could prove otherwise.Sorry,- Vortechnekon: What is your YouTube name? We're you streaming at the time? Can you use the timestamp to prove your innocence maybe?sjarboe01: Youtube name: http://www.youtube.c...en?feature=plcpNo I was not streaming at the time nor recording. Nothing exciting was happening, so there was no point. And no, no timestamps.Honestly, a lot of my recording where going to be on your server. And I would have recommended it to many people.sjarboe01: And you said it yourself, you have a pair of GUID. Meaning that one is mine, and one is my brothers. We would have the same IP because we use the same router. And we have 2 completely different usernames.*** BEST PART ***nekon: Interesting story is interesting.. Please stop wasting our time and move along.dat youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/sjarboe01dat free hack http://www.***.net/...-sjarboe01.html didn't work out so well ehh?dat paid hack? (pathetic) http://www.aimjunkie...mbers/sjarboe01 didn't end so well did it?LMAO! pathetic cheater is patheticSo I contact OshiSeven himself on YouTube to make sure if this guys story matched up. I'll let the screenshots below do the talking. So here's a summary. Was banned from our servers because his IP matched another GUID who has done mass teleporting and numerous others. His own GUID shown up in our logs for teleporting also.Claimed he hangs around hackers in DayZHis usersname he used on Overclock.net is registered on numerous cheating websites.Claimed he was OshiSeven when in fact he wasn't.

cwc_shadow 70 Posted September 29, 2012 Oh, that turned ugly pretty quick. Just another hacker trying to get revenge on the server he (or his "borther") was rightfully banned from.It would be interesting to know which GUID LooNiE had been using while getting banned on the OCN server. Could it be the one above?
(OCN)Vortech 65 Posted September 30, 2012 I think Allan did a pretty good job explaining the situation at hand. I'm pretty tired tonight but if needed I'll be sure to make my kind of response. The big thing to take away here is that this user is a bad liar, rather simple minded in all his efforts, and simply got caught with his behind out. We give everyone a chance, this player didn't respect us enough to tell the truth. Going above-and-beyond the logs we decided to do some simple detective work (Google) and our ban was further justified. We presented the evidence to the player, explained the risk he/they posed as flagged repeat offenders who displayed malicious intent (name & GUID changes). The player continued to change his story, attempted to threaten us  , and ultimately wasted everyone's time with this very thread. So if need be I can put together on of my replies another time, but I think we've gone above-and-beyond (as usual) to justify our actions once again.ApprovedWhat I'd like to know is what is the desired outcome of these threads to BIS? This is now the second bs thread against our servers, in both cases we irrefutably justified our bans as no actions were taken against us by BIS. Both threads stay open, both threads have as far as I'm concerned been resolved, yet they're still here. These threads once dis-proven serve no purpose beyond outright slander (likely the intent of the banned) and represent a slap in the face (from BIS) to the publicly named but rightfully NOT shamed administrators that maintain public servers on behalf of BIS.Where is the accountability for the administrators once we've gone above-and-beyond to justify protecting our players? This is a poorly executed one sided system that allows cheater to stand up on a soapbox and negatively effect your administrators as a last ditch effort. The posting of these threads are moderated but the conclusions are not, does that seem fair? Didn't think so.
rushcrush 20 Posted September 30, 2012 Just reading the op's post I knew it was him hacking and trying to appeal it by saying "my little brother"Pathetic, I guess this is the punishment you get for hacking.
TruYadoo 36 Posted September 30, 2012 I would especially like to point out that Rush Crush is an unbiased, side party who still agrees that this player was legitimately banned. These threads do seem a little indefinite..
Anubis (DayZ) 11 Posted October 6, 2012 I'd like to show my support for the OCN team, I'm a long standing member to Overclockers.com and we have friendly competition with these guysquite a bit. They have always shown great taste and sportsmanship, and I trust Vortech as an admin over anyone else. He is always ontop of banning asshats like this. These guys do a service and provide good administration of their servers. I will continue to play on 1992/1993 knowing that even if im killed by a hacker, he will get what he deserves. Thanks VortechThanks OCNAnd a big shoutout to friends at OCforums.com
TruYadoo 36 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm a long standing member to Overclockers.com and we have friendly competition with these guys.I had to read this over a couple times. I thought he made a mistake, using the wrong domain. Silly me... lolUnfortunately, a couple of our servers are having a bit of an issue right now. The admins are working to fix the issue and we're sorry for the inconvenience.
Anubis (DayZ) 11 Posted October 6, 2012 Lol, i meant of not "to". I haven't found many bad eggs in the overclocking community, but i've been with OCF and [H]ardforums so long I guess its justhabit. I often visit OCN during the chimp challenge and look over the gaming section as well for valuable insight on whats currently out there.
TruYadoo 36 Posted October 7, 2012 I wasn't referring to that.. I thought you mistakenly typed the wrong domain but when I reread it, I noticed you meant an entirely different website. =DBut yes, "of" would have been better than "to".
Lurking Grue 0 Posted November 7, 2012 Well, I can say I was just on 1992 for less than 6 or 7 minutes before I noticed someone teleported a vehicle where I was (which was in the middle of nowhere so to speak, as I was moving my camp from 3364 since we're closing it). I was murdered a few seconds after that, so, I wouldn't afvise anyone to play there. Oh well, that's what private servers are for

(OCN)xXxALLANxXx 17 Posted November 8, 2012 I don't mean to say it but 1992 is constantly accused of abusing...?If you consider "abusing" banning hackers/scripters then I guess you can say so. I'll admit we've made a couple mistakes when we first started but most of the "abuse" threads on here are people we have hard evidence of them hacking. We also submit all of our bans to the CBL for another opinion. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to message me.Thanks,Allan
