Need help setting up 360 controller with Dayz

I know most of you are just going to flame this as stupid, and WHO WOULD WANT TO USE A CONTROLLER blah blah blah, but seriously, go somewhere else :}

If anyone has made a controller work for them can you contact me? I have xpadder, which i can get everything mapped out, but when im in game a few buttons just wont change. Like the right bumper will not change from map, and i can seem to get page up and down to work while in gear menu. If anyone could help me I will give you an L85!!!

Have you tried going into dayz/arma options and changing the controls from there?

Normally i would help (when i first switched from xbox to pc, i had a wired pad i used with xpadder) the only opition as i foudn that this varies from system to system is to just keep playing about with settings to get the best settings.

Id instead of using it as a joypad, but as a keyboard map (not sure if you are doing this already or not) So just keep many of the basic functions like aim shoot zoom move and reload on the pad, and have everything else on the keyboard.

Its how i had to play many games before

Hey Moxy,

I use the xbox controller for many games on the PC, but I would not recommend using it for Dayz.

Players will always have the upper hand on you using a keyboard and mouse.

Thats just my opinion

thanks guys, yeah aim and move and look all work great, its just the other buttons seem to have a mind of their own. i map them on xpadder as the buttons i want, Ex: start is G for inv, right and left bumper are lean left and right, but they all are just magically different buttons, start is Esc, right bumber is Map.. etc, but X works as reload? and B is prone. So some work and others just wont. Its the weirdest thing.
