me and a few friends got sick of having week old characters get messed up by cheating scum, it started to get to the poitn where it was near impossible to get older than a week without encountering a hacker

They are lying, high population public servers are a hacker free utopia at this point. It is all safe in the water again, the sharks are gone.

Hackers still end up on private servers, but they normally get banned after nuking everyone. Private hives deal well with persistent hacking, but can't do much to stop people that really want to be dicks.
