Die from session lost?

Recommended Posts

I think I'm gonna cut myself. Or cry myself to sleep or something.

I was running around on a server with _alot_ of gear. All of a sudden, i get "session lost", and when i join another server, i start in debug hills with a broken leg and _no_ equipment at all.

What is this? Another bug never to be fixed?

Any way to get my gear back?

Why did you post this twice and delete the other?

There is no way to get your gear back.

I posted the other one in bandit campfire by accident. And since there is no way to delete a post, i just deleted the text and made a new one.

Anyway, this kinda bug is just leaving me leaning more and more towards using scripts/hacks or whatever. Not to screw up other players experience, but to spawn back the stuff that I had in situations like this. It really, really annoys me.

I don't think the "session lost" is the main problem. I think joining another server was what did it.

I've been finding that just joining random servers is dangerous to the health of your character.

different version numbers, battleye updates, possibly logging in to a server that has just been restarted, not waiting long enough at the login screen for things to "settle in", poor ping (not actual ping, but wating for the data stream to settle down - not sure of terminology here...)

I've been sticking to a few "safe" servers - ones I've logged into plenty of times without a glitch. I keep notes in DayZ Commander. If I glitch out on login, that server gets blacklisted in my notes until I die and can test it a few times with a fresh character.

If you die in the depug plains, once you successfully login, your previous body should be where it was when you last logged off, or for you're case - where you lost session. it will be on the server where you have now successfully logged in. I've only tested this once, but it worked.

That's the most important reason to always know where you are with fairly good accuracy - in case you need to run back to your body!!

Good Luck!

I was actually joining a "trusted" server right after the session lost and i do keep notes :/ I have been playing on that server (the one where i got killed) the past 14 days or so. So I don't think i would've been able to save myself this time.

I lost session in the middle of some woods in the far west side on the map, but i don't think my body will be there. Right after i lost session, I checked DayZ Commander to see if i could get any clues to what happend, but the server wasn't responding. So I think I actually died on the next server i joined, that being in debug plains/hills. When I switched server again I spawned on the coast without anything.

But thanks anyway. I guess I'm just gonna have to start from scratch.

Thank you. It will be worth it.
