Geoffrey (DayZ) 3 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) So here is the setting, I was in a low pop server, because I had just been free falled by a hacker....Started a new character, spawned near Balota, went through the town, looted a winchester and some rounds.I then went to the Hangers, nothing in the radio tower, got a M1014 in one of the hangers. Swapped my winchester for it. Then headed to the gaurd post to check out the deer stands. Got an AKS-74 No clips, stuck that in the alice pack I got in town. Then I headed towards Cherno, I stuck to the road to make it a tad easier.Ithen saw a pile of loot on the road.....someone had left all of their gear on the floor!!I went over here were the following items:AS50NVG'sRangefinderSVD CamoM4 Holoand smaller thingsbut yes! because of it I now have this load out :DI took the SVD camo over the AS50 because its so rare and even though there were no clips for either gun. One can always hope!!!Bottom line, I went from nothing to all this!! Thank you to the one who dropped this for the next passer by!! It will be used only for good........if I don't get shot on sight again.... Edited September 20, 2012 by Geoffrey

ybm 111 Posted September 20, 2012 They're not hacked in, someone was probably trying to snipe you but lagged out/ was distracted.
venthos 605 Posted September 20, 2012 They're not hacked in, someone was probably trying to snipe you but lagged out/ was distracted. They're almost certainly hacked in. The latest round of weapon spawning involves some wonkiness that requires spawning the gun locally on your character and then dropping it to the ground to have it register as existing for the server. Then, you pick it back up. Therefore the automated hack tool to do this just automates this and results in a big loot pile being generated. This method avoids the need for bypassing BattlEye or using scripts. If the player were to logoff/disconnect, all loot they personally set on the ground would be deleted (as is the case with all loot a player has placed on the ground when they disconnect)

jason_m_perry@hotmail.com 38 Posted September 20, 2012 These posts to me are funny. Geoffrey finds some rare gear WOW NEATO! Thing is Geoffrey actually TOOK the TIME to come to the forums and post about it. Good ole Geoffrey is going to cry a river and make a HACKER thread 8975734754 when he dies and loses it all. Its a viscious cycle on these forums I tell you.
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted September 20, 2012 I can't speak for this incident but on Chernarus I do this often, I find leaving bits and pieces around for new players helps sometimes, but I only leave them in places more experienced players wouldn't use (ie running along roads, Beaches) That way I guess the players would be new and lacking in knowledge etc.Truth of the matter is I steal this from Camps and love your QQ's when you find out.I would also advise new players to check all ponds nowadays due to Tents being hidden in them. codave 121 Posted September 20, 2012 Or we can wait until he actually makes a thread like that. It's probably better than just assuming he will. But hey, what do I know. I'm not you, right?
