Addition of a variant of the Lee Enfield

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking about the Lee-Enfield and some of its downfalls. I can't help but with there was a better version of the trusted rifle and I believe I have found a better option for the trusted .303 Lee-Enfield.

I believe that the Enfield Rifle No.5 Mk.1 "Jungle Carbine" would be a good addition to the DayZ mod because the N.5 is a little shorter, lighter, and has a built in flash suppressor.

"The No. 5 was about 100 mm shorter and nearly a kilogram lighter than the No. 4 from which it was derived. A number of "lightening cuts" were made to the receiver body and the barrel, the bolt knob drilled out, woodwork cut down to reduce weight and had other new features like a flash suppressor and a rubber buttpad to help absorb the increased recoil... ...was popular with troops because of its light weight (compared to the SMLE and Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I rifles then in service) and general ease of use..." ~Wikipedia...

I actually thought about suggesting the use of the N0.5 Mk.1 because I personally own one. I go hunting with it and I find it to be very dependable. The .303 rounds are definitely getting more difficult to find and the complaints against the gun have yet to be displayed in the rifle I own. I just wish I had the bayonet for the rifle...
