Alright. Tents. What the eff?

Recommended Posts

So. Here's the deal.

After recently changing my "Home" server, I set up a camp. Makes sense. I placed a tent on an uneven plane between two trees. Put some gear in there.

Server restarted. Lost it all.

Thats fine, I checked the forums and found out that if placed on an uneven ground, the tent will "settle" and reset the gear but after that, the tent is safe to put items in.

So I thought, "Aight. I can find a new M4A1 CCO. No big D."

So I went out, did another loot run, put some other stuff in it. Now, another reset has occurred.

I return to my camp, only to find that the tent is nowhere to be found. It is in a derelict enough location that I believe that nobody would have found it.

Why does my tent seem to be a magician at making items vanish, as well as itself?

I don't think you read what I was saying. The tent is gone.

It is no longer there. Inaccessible, no longer visible.

As if it were erased.

Tents (and vehicles) frequently fail to spawn after a server restart. Check back again after the next restart.

I was wondering that.

Will it spawn with the items inside? Or no?

Or do you not know?

If it "settled" as a previous poster called it, it should have the items intact.

On my clan's server, we usually need to do a double reset to be sure that things are normal..

It's an annoying thing, but you know.. alpha and all that.. :P

Alright. So. Assuming that the tent re-appears (and as you say, it should) it will contain all my items?

Awesome. I appreciate all of your responses.

Truly, and sincerely.

Only you can answer that. It's a crap shoot. You'll find out how the dice rolled soon enough...maybe you get your stuff, maybe not. Maybe you don't even get your tent back. This is how tents have been since May.

Tent is back. Items are back. Strange. I never had problems with tents until 1.7.2.5. That's when this shit-storm of tent-fuck happened.

Before then, it was no problem. Well okay. Now it just seems like I need to continually wait for server restarts, in order to store items. COOL.

Just kidding.

Tent's seem to nuke whatever you put in them and appear fresh at the first restart after placing. Then you can put in and save whatever you like.

Periodically, all the tents on the server seem to disappear after a restart. Usually, they are back after yet another restart.

I've got about 12 tents spread across maybe 5 servers. If a tent disappears, it will be back. Trust me.
